First beat the peak from edf today between 5 and 6.reading the details looks like they will only need to do it 12 times up to March and no particular dates.think bg is better as every Sunday half price between certain hours.on e7 so use that heavily but I’m grateful for anything I get back ..if I do lol. 😀

Half price will only save you 15p per kwh, the other scheme they will pay you £3 to not use a kwh.

I signed up for it today. Can't see me saving any really as my usage is bare bones around that time anyway but nothing to lose by giving it a go. I do draw the line at switching the freezer and fridge off for an hour or going out into the garage to switch off the fishpond pump to save a 50W load.

I think they said it would be 2 weeks before we hear how much we saved.

Well we managed to save the princely sum of £0.34 !! :'(
Possibly because our peak rate is higher than SVT.

Good idea though Swipe. Next time I might try switching off the fridge, freezers, spring water supply pump and anything else we can live without for a few hours and then catch up when the 9pm off peak window kicks in !!!
  • Gosh, I am ahead of both of you,  massive £0.53 having saved 180Wh!
