My colleague said the reward would have to be £5 for him to consider participating
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.
  • Conservarively we will make about £150-£200 over the 14 sessions (2 live and 12 test) as long as Octopus keep bidding low due to being able to export batteries during the sessions.

My sister and family without batteries may make £20-30. They are still doing it.

But I do understand some won't get out of bed for less than £xxx
  • I don’t have batteries so I will only make £20-£30 too. I was on about £20 last time I looked. It’s still £20 in my pocket rather than theirs though.

My wife decided to have the oven and induction hob on last night, just after 6pm. She just looked at me when I suggested delaying for an hour, so I left it. I know when to pick my battles, and its not over £1.

    Octo-Aid is predicting a 27Wh saving, 5p worth of Octopoints :)

Discretion is the better part of valour :-

It's certainly difficult for some vulnerable groups to participate - such as anyone who's married, people with teenage children and so on.....

As much as we all know the punishment for minor or perceived transgressions can be huge, I am pretty sure one will never get classed as vulnerable just because of being married or having teenagers... :)

I thought I was all set up fine then realised after 5.30 that my batteries hadn't been filling. Iron blowing up in the afternoon tripped the electrics and somehow interfered with a setting on the inverter. I managed to get about 25 minutes of charge, changed the discharge setting on the battery to drain it lower than it would normally go at the moment, turned off the fridge and freezer, turned down the central heating so the pump stopped, and sat with the light from one low energy bulb on using phone and laptop from their batteries. Dinner turned into a peanut butter sandwich. OH was out so I was able to be very frugal without being moaned at. Inverter log shows I exported 2.04kwh, although my data isn't uploading to Octopus today, probably due to the power issue. Phoned them earlier and they said they will request a manual download and it should still be OK.

    More stress than I needed!

According to the Streamlit page, we earned 73p.  I'm fairly impressed considering the dinner went on at 6pm
