  • Mine haven't arrived. Seems to take them about 10 days I think to calculate them all. Not unusual to take this long, they've got so many people taking part and tech issues probably get in the way every now and then (e.g. missing meter reads which I think get auto corrected where possible once a week).

And yet https://savingsessions.streamlit.app/ which many of us on here use, normally gives us the results the very next day.

I don't know why it takes Octopus so long?

They have to go through a verification process involving NG, I think.

In the sessions last year, I did quite well, but that was because I'd got a higher baseline due to electric car charging just before the run of slots at the end of November/early December. I was on Intellegent Octopus and it (helpfully) scheduled one of my charging sessions to run through the peak. This gave me a good baseline. Intellegent Octopus seems to have changed since then and doesn't give many daytime sessions these days.

Now I'm only making a few pence per session, because my baseline is low (I don't normally get home from work until after 6pm). I'll still take part, because there's also the extra bonus points and prize draws.

For those without batteries, the scheme might be more sucessful if instead of giving everyone a few pence, they used all the money as prizes. So not everyone would get paid for the session, but the people who win get a more meaningful amount.

You won't get the results the very next day if you have missing data. A subset of customers require their data to be manually retrieved after each session, and we know there are instances where some data can't be retrieved and the customer gets an average payout. As above, Octopus runs the numbers once all of the data they can get is available and confirmed.

I haven’t received any Octopoints for Jan or Feb sessions despite only missing one opt in. Didn’t expect to save much but the only additions have been from wheel spins.

    Have you contacted them?

Against each session should be a symbol which tells you what happen for that session

You opted in and used less power over the whole Session
    or
You opted in and used less power for part of the Session
    or
You opted in but didn't save power at any point in the Session
    or
You didn't opt in to this Session
    or
We couldn't collect your readings for this Session
    or
    We're still calculating the rewards!

I missed the first one so have a "didn't opt in" and apart from the last two which are "still
calculating" all the rest were "used less power for the whole session" and the number of points earned

    Neither have I.
But they will come in time & seems pointless wasting both my & their time to get a answer we can guess at anyway.
It's not like the bonus is time critical & going to radically change any ones life 😶‍🌫️

  • 2nd Feb points have now been revealed. I saved 3.6 kwh from flipping the red on electric box to off. Shame the value has been decreased to £1.75…
