What do we think out of the 50% smart meters out there in the domestic wilderness only 2-3% take part in these events?
I would guess even lower than that. I suppose a very rough figure could be arrived at by comparing the average customer saving figure by the total amount saved for one of the previous sessions.

That doesn't take into account the lower payments now awarded and that's still very poor as statistically 3.5million of their 7million customers should have smart meters.

It's just not enough reward for the masses to be bothered.

    I'm in.
My savings are likely to be single-figure pennies, but the only effort is one click on the app and then remembering to use the gas kettle not the electric one!

  • Octopus have finally sent a notification at 5.05. It’s a good job Octo-Aid-aid told me earlier.

300 pairs of Odeon tickets up for grabs and 8 extra spins on the wheel of fortune plus 100 points if you have a streak of 2 or more sessions.

    18:00 to 19:00

Makes it a bit harder to cut back, but in.
6-7pm for us makes it easier just dinner done by 6pm then kick the kids out to go and see friends 😂😂

Looking at the nearby properties during sessions not many can be taking part.
With a good couple of inches of snow on the ground.. No way am I venturing out again. Dogs have had their walk & can either cross their legs or go in the garden, if they think I'm going out again tonight 🤣

Hardly surprising really that a financial incentive of probably less than £1 isn't enough to encourage people to participate - particularly when you consider how many customers don't even bother to check prices and change suppliers. I think describing the rewards as "exciting" is overstating things and runs the risk of putting people off when they realise. A shame - we need something to help smooth demand, but I don't think this scheme is it :-(

It's not spins on the wheel, it's entries into the draw for cinema tickets.
