We were the same until @QrizB kindly explained to me that we could get £2.25 per kWh that we force exported from our battery to the grid during the session.

we made around £45 for the latter 2023 saving sessions in total exporting our battery to the grid during these sessions. Well worth having
    Lancashire
    PV 5.04kWp SW facing
    Solar Battery 6.5 kWh
    🐙 Intelligent Go

Mortgage freedom January 2024 - paid off 7 years early by making overpayments where we could.

I turned off my freezer, my radio, unplugged my laptop, turned down the fridge from 4.5 to 2 and unplugged my security light.

I turned off all my lights and went off to Sainsbury's buying a bottle of Jim Beam + 2 bottles of coke to celebrate returning at 6:33pm, but I wont get a penny from this Octopus saving session ! Why? .................................................I'm with E.ON Next  :D

I'm the only person in the house for once!  So everything's off - TVs, lights, computer, etc.  Shame it's not for a longer session
I hope you posted that on a battery operated device, and via network coverage, not connected to plugged in wifi router, or you're banned!
Haha, it was actually via wifi (on my tablet) but our landline is through the router and my parents like to leave it connected, so I just view it as part of our base load.
  • My husband has just confessed to leaving an oil filled radiator switched on in the van, in case he decided to do some work in it tonight (he won’t) 🤦🏼‍♀️

Then you haven't read this thread properly as you should be exporting your battery power during the session and be making more money than most.

I shut off at the smart meter so no need to do anything else, although my usage is usually low I can still save 100%.

We exported just shy of 2kwH, so should be a minimum of £4.32 plus whatever our average usage for the previous 10 weekdays (although last two days there would have been zero as we were running off the battery).
