Because it's using electricity. So will mean my usage over the hour will be much higher than normal. So no Octopoints, as not saved any energy.

My normal usage in that hour is around 0.5kWh
Car charging will be over 7kWh

Normal usage

17:30 - 18:00  kWh 0.09 

18:00 - 18:30  kWh 0.49 

Car charging
09:30 - 10:00  kWh 3.78 

10:00 - 10:30  kWh 3.86

I take it you also assumed if it's on charge now it would be finished before the session started

Not with a 64kWh battery charging from 19 to 80% & deferred session 12:00 to 12:15 12:45 to 20:47. 👍

I was wondering if it was a mistake re in day adjustment that's gone now.

Perhaps you could expand further on your outburst about the National Grid ESO DFS events and how you came to this conclusion?

This is a national all suppliers event not Octopus.

Ummm...no? I'm not sure what you think this thread is about, but you seem to be a little confused!  (Did you manage to get yourself off the E7 and on to single rate, by the way?) 


We're opted in but of course I set the washing machine to run later - and of course it is programmed to run at a time which means it will be gearing up to do it's spin by the time we get home (around 7pm) - as currently the spin cycle is noisy enough that I don't trust it to run without supervision - and yes, that means it will be running right through the 1730-1830 window. Having said that, yesterday it just turned its programming off and powered itself down during the day, so there is always a chance it might have done that again!

The national grid is paying suppliers and consumers to reduce their usage or increase their export. 

The alternative is they can pay dirty energy providers (coal etc) for short notice additional power. 

Better they pay us rather than fire up dirty fuels.
