Why not? They stated 6 tests before the end of the year and we have had 5 to date and 2 live/emergency events. So we were due one more and always likely to be before the holiday period.

I would hazard a guess 5-6pm.today but will confirm when the timings are released by National Grid ESO.

Just confirmed for 17:00 to 18:00 - next stage is for suppliers to bid...

Edit: for clarity. National Grid have confirmed that there will be saving session today and that suppliers can bid to take part. The bids have not been processed yet and as such it is not confirmed (although very likely) that Octopus will be successful and there will be an Octopus Svaing Session.

We're waiting for the bidding process to complete and National Grid to confirm which bids have been successful. Assuming Octopus are successful we then need to wait for them to update their systems so we can opt in. I'm following this closely today as I'm testing out some automation that will allow me to adjust water heating and battery charging times before and after the event by simply entering the start and end times.
