That's rather a shame. Even at their current 45% pass-through Octopus would have been paying 76 Octopoints per kWh.

They don't seem to want to play on Weekends.

As usual I chose wrong for my 2 free hours today , solar gen was 5.4 kWh during them, and the forecast for next sunday is similar here

Similarly, looked perfect, yesterday, cloud forecast and high Agile price. Of course there was a break in the cloud, for about an hour, at the appointed time.

I happily used my 2 hours doing 2 loads of washing, a dishwasher cycle, mowed the lawn and cooked some granola. I know how to live!

Mrs QrizB took her EV away for most of the day (I know, how thoughtless 😂) but nevertheless we did OK.

My first session was 1100-1200. It was dull and solar wasn't making anything much so I recharged my home battery, heated the HW tank (& took a shower) and washed a load of laundry. App says 3.65kWh used.

My second session was 1400-1500. The sun came out 🌤️😦 so the battery was mostly already charged, the HW tank didn't take much topping up and all was looking lost until Mrs QB arrived home at the half-way point and we put her car on to charge. App says 4.87kWh used.

Based on previous experience I'll now need to keep an eye on how much I'm charged vs. how much I'm refunded.

Export your battery for the hour before, so you're charging it on import for the session.

I've tried that in the past, and if the sun's out whilst you're trying to export, you can't make much space to fill.

I've only used one hour, about 3 weeks ago, when we were coming back from holiday so I switched the immersion on whilst in Greece.

I'm hoping that we either get some dull Sundays, although Countryfile reckons we're in for another sunny one next weekend, or I will dump some of the battery overnight when it can't possibly top up, and hope that the shading we get on the panels in the winter is significant during 11-12.

That won't help, the battery can only charge at 2.52 kWh and at least it got charged by solar leaving a little solar for the house but the few appliances were able to take some the "free" energy and got my washing done and an early lunch.
