Octopus saving sessions

"Every little bit counts: so this time, every opted in customer will earn 100 Octopoints minimum (meaning if your Session rewards add up to less than that, we'll bump them up to 100" ( taken from todays email()


SS before yesterday I was given 800 points ( £1.00) they could not retrieve readings for that session, they looked everywhere.   My response was not to use oven during yesterdays saving session not for potential tiny gain, due to them giving me £1 on previous occasion.

Update - notification just appeared on the app 👍 Octopus must have made space for one more

I don't know what phone you have but on an i-phone you need to pull the page down to refresh it.

i was the same as you couldnt get to join, so i messaged them and that was due to loss of data, so they straightaway pulled data from meter and allowed to join on the app, so if your in the same situation it could be loss of data and cant join tomorrow, so i be straight onto them (i done twitter) to get you sorted

Just had the notification on the app for tomorrow’s one. Can’t see us getting much out of this one mind - it’s definitely not a high-use time for us, and we’ll be out anyway…having turned as much as possible off before we go, obviously!

How do they calculate how much you've reduced your consumption by?
Do they compare it to last week /last month or when?

If the session is run on a weekday like today then it's the average of the 10 proceeding weekdays at the times the saving session lasts excluding any days that were also saving session days

If it's a weekend day then it's the previous 4 weekend day/time used again excluding any that were previous savings sessions.

Just checked the fuel mix 2.1 coal 6.7 biomass 60.7 gas 11.2 nuke 12 imports 6.1 hydro rest negligible

I used 580Wh over the 90 minutes, cooked on the gas hob instead of using the oven
