Octopus saving sessions

Specifically "1 hours", so I'm guessing they've used a floor value in a script. I don't think the previous 1 hour test session was pluralised. Website gets it right, so unlikely to have been keyed incorrectly.born_again said:Interesting to note it says 1 hour between 17:00 & 18:30 ? in app

Won't let me sign up. Says it could be because too many are trying.
Try again tomorrow.
I want to see if I can beat my previous reduction of 40 w.

The_Hawk said:I think I've now proved my previous conclusion that, without the In Day Adjustment, the current Demand Flexibility Service and, therefore, the Octopus Savings Sessions are a waste of time for me.That's always your choice.
If you only typically use 150Wh in the period, you're not going to be able to earn more than that.The_Hawk said:With the maximum effort to cut back from an already very low base, in the first saving session I saved 31p.
In-day adjustment can't have been meant to be used the way it was (artificially inflating use earlier in the day, for greater benefit when saving) and I can't see it coming back.The_Hawk said:I won't be going through any such effort again unless the In Day Adjustment is reintroduced.
Again, still your choice.The_Hawk said:I will continue to sign up, in the hope of winning a prize and I will also, hopefully, be able to take advantage of any 'free' sessions.

Anyone had a notification from Octopus via the App or email yet? I got the WhatsApp one, but nothing from the app and no email. Pretty sure I didn't last time either.0

Likewise. If the website/app performance is anything to go by, they don't have the capacity to get these out at the moment.bagand96 said:Anyone had a notification from Octopus via the App or email yet? I am not allowed to take part this year because you have to have a direct debit. Bit sneaky really.Cant be for no other reason other than to control your finances.Always been in at least £200 credit and got smart meters.

Good I think that's a fair reason.Jonty6262 said:I am not allowed to take part this year because you have to have a direct debit. Bit sneaky really.Cant be for no other reason other than to control your finances.Always been in at least £200 credit and got smart meters.
Don't forget that also means variable in full direct debit so you only pay for what you use that month so no shenanigans in that. It's what we are on.
They can set it up instantly like like with a quick message.2 -
Ooh, Whatsapp message says every person opted in will earn at least 100 points, even if they don't save that much (or anything, presumably).
