....don't be so negative, luke warm should be possible (as long as it's not for too long)

Must admit I've given up on this now as the only way I can benefit is by constantly chaging the battery settings and I only have to get it wrong once and I've blown away the meagre gains.

I'm still participating, but we're into these months of the year where the solar and battery can meet all of our domestic electricity needs apart from EV charging.

Our average use from 1900-1900 is essentially zero, and will continue to be zero until late October or so.

I'm currently on ~200 points or about 24p - That is enough for a hot bath (using gas @ 5.47kWh).

The point of Savings Sessions aligns with their ethos, so it's not surprising they bid just in case it's accepted.

I also wonder if it is to keep the more expensive gas generators out. At the recent low prices, it must be grid connected battery storage (and / or commercial scale DSM) that can fill the requirement. On the chance that there isn't enough of that, any bid Octopus makes will help to squeeze gas out of the running. Could a gas generator run at 13p/kWh and still make a profit?
