Makes me wonder what percentage of the overall total comes from battery owners. On the one hand there are far fewer of us - on the other hand we're probably the only ones making worthwhile (albeit small) savings. Anyone want to guess?
It would be interesting to see more detailed stats, most people can probably only shift a few kWh because that is all they normally use, battery users can possibly shift more, but many will normally be exporting in that window anyway as it is normally a peak export window.

Depends what tariff you are on for export. We're on 15p fixed export tariff so we never export in that slot unless it's a midsummer's day and the battery is completely full. Even so it wouldn't be much.

6p for me which isn't bad considering I only opted in because "why not", wasn't even at home and so did precisely nothing to actively cut down!
So I wasn't the only one saving peanuts. Managed to save 70W and got 6p for my efforts.

@Slinky I am on flux so I get 27.44p 1600-1900, but I only export then if the battery is virtually full, and I need to keep some back to see through til 0200, since 25.57 import + 10% loss on conversion to dc/ac.

I think I would be quite anxious about exporting at that time worrying we wouldn't have enough for our own use.  I'm thinking about getting a quote for adding in a couple more batteries. We have 9.6kw at the moment, use between 6-9kwh per day.  We jhave 4.1kw of panels

Possibly, although only worth exporting anything you can't use yourself, unless it's better to export it and then "buy back" what you need, which is going to depend on things like your tariff, battery capacity and usage. I'm not exporting anything most days at the moment and probably won't for the next few months.

Apparently the average for those opting in was 25p.

"We don't know exactly how much power you saved in the session as we weren't able to get readings from your electricity meter – but we're giving you 200 Octopoints, (that's £0.25), the average received by all customers as a thank you for taking part!"
