Thank goodness?  If you don't have batteries that can export power you probably stand to make about 50p !
Bonus points for opting in, if nothing else.
And a prize draw quiz this time too, bit of fun if the time is going spare.

Finally got some bonus points for the lat session.

Well that was a painless half-hour, what with it not quite being dark. Only snag was the consumer unit tripped when I turned back on at the main isolator in the meter box. Had to climb through an obstacle course of stuff I'd hastily chucked aside, to make room for a bulky delivery in the garage.

I always find that too extreme turning the consumer unit off. And the trouble it may cause after.
  • I did the quiz and sent in a photo of my answer sheet (I'm sure 75% were wrong) to go in the prize draw. Only issue is that one of the "prizes" was 2 tickets for Arsenal, sorry you'd need to pay me a LOT of money to go there!

Only use wi-fi and that's off
OK, I appreciate the commitment, but too hardcore for me - in my world I can veto the oven and the washing machine but lights and wifi need to stay on or I suffer the wrath of wife and stepson, for the sake of roughly 5p I can live with that......

  • Normally I switch everything off as I am out during the early evening.  Decided that 30 minutes was not worth the hassle of coming home and asking Siri to turn on the torch,

    My baseline is 0.225 kWh.

Come home to find I used 0.07 kWh,  Saving of 0.155 kWh.

Multiplied by 1440 (I think the Octopoints were) gives me 223 points, which is a massive 28p for doing nothing.  Better in my pocket than anyone elses.

I notice it is not showing yesterday's usage.  Hopefully Octopus will use yesterday's of 0.09 and not Feb 14.  It will increase my mean slightly.

I hope my (minimal) efforts weren't in vain as I now have 2 days of missing data (though n3rgy has the missing days, so it ain't my smart meter). Hopefully someone will give Kraken a kick tomorrow.
