Evening all.
It's been so cold and wet and miserable here today (and we have ANOTHER yellow warning for rain tomoz AND Saturday ~sigh~) that I've only done the essentials - e.g. swish and swipe, cook etc. Didn't even get out to buy jam and tomatoes it was so miserable! (Cold / damp air affects my lungs when the two combine, it's a double whammy so I've learnt to stay indoors!...)
But, I have made a loaf of bread from scratch and some rolls (rolls go into the freezer for those days when the loaf runs out and I haven't paid attention to stock control!).
Bit of unexpected action at lunchtime. An air ambulance landed on the open space at the bottom of my back garden and, with the help of the police and land ambulance service took off again eventually to transport a casualty to a hospital about 30 miles away that deals with particular types of injury.
We may moan about the NHS/Police generally, but this partnership between them and the charitable air ambulance service shows the different services can work collaboratively and swiftly should the need arise. I wish the casualty a full recovery.
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi all lots to catch up on. Good to hear that things are positive with your DH Jazzee. DS1 has an unhealthy attitude towards alcohol and I worry about it sometimes, not that he listens to me. Speaking of DS he sent me into a spin today because it's his birthday and he wasn't answering messages which is really unusual. I know his MH isn't the best right now but thankfully all is OK.
Paid stuff is still stupidly busy, WFH tomorrow and I plan to finish early and do something for myself.
I have hoovered and sorted some laundry. I am sooo ready for the weekend!11 -
I had a tin of beans and sausages for dinner. Everyone else was fed various things, pack ups done, hung up the laundry, OH emptied and did a second load in the DW. It needs a third and once everyone has finished eating maybe a 4th..
When he was upset.. Treacle came charging in our room and loved all over him.. I will never be told cats do not care about their people. She was visibly upset that he was upset and she just doesn't understand, she just knew he needed love and gave it.
I need a birthday card for Moomin.. and Squeak needs to sort her baking stuff for school.. they are making bread apparently.. but she hasn't been in a single lesson all week and hasn't yet managed a full day at school this week.. and only managed to get on the bus today, we took her in Monday and Tuesday and she stayed home Wednesday because we didn't have time to take her... She refused to speak to her 1-2-1 today.. that is worrying.. she loves her. She is the only person she has spoken to about MIL dying.

Evening all.
Big (((hugs))) to pigpen and all the family xx
Well done everyone who has made an effort today xx
Today I have only managed to
- declutter some hair (I'm leaving it to grow a bit longer on top for the winter!)
- declutter a few more photos
- find some more photos that were 'missing'
- sort a few more pictures for DS1's 50th album - I've still got far too many!
- sleep for 2 hours this afternoon because I was feeling very cold and it was grey outside
- walk Rosie - it was dark by the time we got home!
- cook tea
- start off some tea loves and bare cupboard cakes
- sort a few more photos
Giving up now, as Rosie is pestering me for a game with her toys.

Yesterday was Body Pump then work! Sure something else must have happened but I can't recall what. Yet another complex student; I summoned MH team member to see him and have already booked a meeting with my manager to discuss how the report needs to be. Dropped in to Mr A on the way home and got quite a lot of reduced stuff.
Today BIL went home. I haven't even checked to see if Mr N has stripped the bed; he usually does, but it is so wet at the moment.
Did a flower arrangement for a friend.
Went to Pilates.
Went to visit friend in care home; she liked the flowers.
Went for drumming lesson.
Thought I'd made a good find when I went to 3 charity shops for impending Christmas party on the theme of 'Grease the Movie'......got a lovely full-skirted black silk-like dress and a pink shell jacket....however I need to be more slinky to fit the dress. I've got 3 weeks and 3 days to do that. Rather sick at what size the dress says it is; it isn't a size I usually am. However it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that I will fit it; I aim to start running again after a few weeks with my dodgy toe, plus there is a new zumba class starting in the village on Monday so I'll be doing 2 zumbas on a Monday (although one is only zumba gold which is slower).
The house is reasonably clean and tidy. The weekend will be spent clearing out the conservatory as we heard today that the new one will be started on 4th Dec. Plumber coming next Monday to hopefully move a pipe and make life easier for the conservatory men.
On the subject of Advent Calendars - for several years I've got the Jacquie Lawson online one for myself and one for my Mum who does it on her tablet. We spend the rest of the year finding elves and doing all the puzzles......and our combined age is 157.....Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
I've had an email about one of the jobs I applied for.... they left a number, will give them a call sometime in the morning......
( when I was younger, I had no quams of moving from job to job, now, I'm nervous!!)10 -
Mega hugs to @pigpenHad a frenzied tidying up, vaccing and bathroom-cleaning period this morning prior to our friends coming for lunch. Before that started off a pork and cider casserole and made a pear and ginger crumble. Realised we needed some more paper napkins and didn't want to use the linen ones as I've only just washed and ironed them from our last visitors so popped out to the shops to get some and also to get the paper for A.Somehow I was just about ready when they arrived at one. They seemed to enjoy it and were pleased with the belated birthday cake. Everyone was too full to eat any though so they took half, as well as some leftover casserole and crumble, home with them. Washed up (some of the glasses weren't used which was a bonus) and later made a light supper and then more washing up [sigh]. The usual eye meds were administered throughout the day of course and now it's time for bed. Zzzzzz9
