DVLA licence renewed, signature tiny on new licence

I checked all the relevant bits on my licence when I received it and I noticed the signature was tiny. I have a fairly short name and my signature is not much bigger than yours, not quite filling the space between the three curved lines.

Since I applied for my licence online, the signature was taken from my passport and it is not much bigger on there either,

Never occurred to me to worry about it. I've used my licence as ID and to hire cars both in the UK and abroad. Never had a problem.

I give up. I wish I could find out why the signature is still on the licence when it's so tiny no one can read it. 
I will report it as lost and pay for a new one.

And what happens when that comes exactly the same? Will you report that lost too?

Nobody has agreed it's an issue so not sure why you are trying to make it one.

Nobody has agreed it's an issue so not sure why you are trying to make it one. 

To be fair OP sent their licence back and it has gone missing now.

It is undoubtedly an issue.
Any documentation that is unreadable is invalid.

Nonsense. My signature has been unreadable for decades. Never a problem.

Why include the signature on the licence if it is so small it can't be read by the naked eye. My old licence had my signature in a size that was the same as on my renewal form signature box. This new one looks like a score of ants crawled across the licence for an inch with ink on their feet. 

I'm applying online for a renewal so the DVLA triangle will not disappear my new one. Even if the signature is not visible I shall keep it.

You're asking the wrong people. 
It's there. A few are apparently concerned by its size. Most don't give a monkeys...
