    Because it’s so small??
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

How big is your signature on the form?  Is there a lot of space around it?

The image will be reduced to go on the licence so if  your write small, then your reduced signature will be ven smaller.

Just checked it. It is probably about the same size as yours.
Not planning to do anything about it because I've already been using it as ID to open bank accounts and it has caused me no issues whatsover.
Normally, a signature is used as proof of identity. Perhaps it shouldn't be on the licence if it's not legible. I will now have to pay £20 to have it reissued. It must have landed in the DVLA triangle.

On Form D1 the signature must be within the lines of the signature box. The box fits my normal signature. The problem is they did not reproduce my signature to that size. Now, my licence seems to be lost and I will have to pay to get another one.

    Is it?

Ive had a driving licence for decades and not once has anyone scrutinised the signature. A cursory look at the picture and the address maybe, but nothing more. Anyone can squiggle my name.

Think you are blowing this up into a non-issue.

Yeah, my sig's tiny too, but so is the space for it.

I shan't be doing anything about it.

In the distant past, police might have asked for a signature to ensure that the licence was actually yours.

Now that we have photos, it serves no useful purpose.

Mine is too small to read without a magnifier, but I couldn't care less.

It's the number and photo that matter.

A police officer or other entitled person may well ask for your date of birth to check it against the number.

No one would be asking you to give a specimen signature.

A driving licence can be used for ID
Yes, because it's got a photo, date of birth, name and address on it. The signature doesn't normally play a part.
Has anyone else experienced problems with their signature on a recent licence
    No
and does it matter that it's not legible with the naked eye.
There's no requirement for signatures to be legible. Mine obviously resembles my usual signature, albeit reduced in size (in the same way as everybody else's is on their licence).

But I can't remember anybody using it to verify my signature. In what circumstances has that happened to you?
