My youngest son seems to have started a trend with gift buying for me
For my birthday I got a childs set of water colours -some you have to use a hair dryer on and they puff up...........lol (I used to do water colours then stopped for some reason or other)
So among the box of odds and sods he gets at Christmas I got him a clay modelling set with moulds of footballers he can make and paint (he works at an art college)
Today I got a 'sew a teddy' kit...........meant for a child but the teddy is so cute. Might just make it and send it for his birthday in March.
Might sound daft (son is in his mid30's) but it does make gift buying more fun to get and more fun to open....................lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

My brother has just given me a bottle of heinz tomato ketchup (a bottle of red) to go with the Pinot Grigio (bottle of white) he bought me. Think it has something to do with the fact that I am too cheap to buy Heinz: he reckons he can taste the difference so won't eat my ketchup.
Offended, moi?!? Not at all......2009 winnings: private box at the ballet, a cooking lesson with Jean Christophe Novelli, a case of wine, £25 itunes downloads, a candle, Football Manager PC game, a lipstick, £2500 -
Monster-in-law has given us a cheap plastic picnic set for 2. .....except there are 5 of us! Oh and a ceramic plant pot from the garden (no plant mind you LOL)July Win: Nokia 58000

I got a gift voucher from superbuzzy.com from MIL, my fave fabric site, she had done her research!
From my SIL I got a toilet in Uganda, can't wait to go and use it :P"The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too."- Samuel Butler0 -

My friend received a great present (in my opinion) from a work friend.
It was a box with popcorn, 2 bottles of pop and a voucher for the cinema for 2.
I thought that was a very thoughtful present.
I got the best present I've ever received this year (my leather goth coat - it's beautiful).
I received some lovely presents this year - past presents have included a smoke alarm, a bed sheet).
A couple of years ago my mum gave my husband a bottle wrapped up - we were a bit short of cash and he was itching to open it - he had convinced himself it was scotch (his favourite tipple) - I persuaded him to wait at least until Christmas Eve - he opened it and it was a bottle of Christmas Ale (99p from Tesco) - the look on his face was priceless. :beer:All credit cards paid off.

great thread - although i have to say i'd like something like a wind up torch (bought one for myself on the 3 for 2 at boots when i got christmas presents this month - sits in the car for emergencies!), and i get a cheque most years from parents and grand parents - there's an annual trip to the sales to make sure the money goes as far as possible (online now checking out what to go and look for tomorrow/thursday!)!!
