pointless Christmas Presents

Options
:rotfl: Please post the most pointless xmas presents you recieve this Xmas.

Me and dh was really naughty and opened our presents from his mother and aunty. They always stink of cigarette smoke which instantly puts us off, but this years selections takes the biscuit.

From dh's mother he got a torch for the car in emergencys that flashes, I sure it is something he has dreamt of recieving all year  He hardly uses the car.

I got some biscuits:j

From Aunty we got a joint present from the bargain basement :rotfl: A 1990's PG film 'Hot Shots' part 2. We have not seen the first film and we don't own a DVD.

I dread to think what they have got the kids. If it's clothes they usually go straight in the wash because they stink of fags :D

  • years ago when i was a single parent, i always used to make sure I found out for the family what people wanted and would make sure my money was spent on something worthy....people asked me what I wanted and i would tell them but it would upset me that they always got me something different that i didnt need or want and i really did in those days honestly wanted things like a fiver sainsburys voucher etc but people say oooo you dont want that...arghh...still solved it now dont buy for cousins and their kids etc xmas is very cheap these days family wise, we just hardly talk to anyone ;)
  • I always spend time and thought picking out people's gifts according to what I know they like.

DH family do not bother with us or our dd's which upsets us. I think we have seen his mother four times this year and that is a flying visit. I always try and encourage her and make her feel welcome to no avail, but I guess it is her choice. This is why I dread what she buys us for xmas, it would be easier if she didn't bother because she has put no love in to it!

think thats how i felt about some of the pressies I used to get, sister out law step monster etc....all from the same breed of people without care love or thought all through the year and it just shows itself at xmas, i genuinely wished they didnt bother at all as they would use it to insult us if you get me...rather they spent the time effort and lack of energy on their kids etc

    Oops, sorry! redface.gif

For some reason, I thought you'd put 'bin', not wash, and I was wondering what on earth the point of that was.

Time I went to bed methinks!

In that case, I agree totally - nothing worse than smokey clothes!
