It operates on a calendar month basis.foambananas said:Re the Monmouthshire Regular Saver Issue 8. What do they class as a "Month" for deposit purposes? is it a calander month, so you can deposit up to the max amount anytime in the month, or, does the month run from the date you opened the account to the same date the following month, ie 20th sept to 20th oct?
Also worth noting that you are more than welcome to ask any queries about regular savers in The Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread.
The above thread also contains a regularly updated list of the top regular savers on offer, the summaries on the first page of the above thread should state whether they operate on a calendar month or account month basis.

That 2025 Savings Week is turning out a bit of a damp squib, isn't it.
Only account worth noting is the Manchester BS RS one.1 -

Manchester Regular Saver
After submitting the application as a new customer, with the nominated account verified, there was immediately an email stating that I have to prove my ID, but it didn't say how. Couldn't find a way to upload documents on their website. Only my first of 6 current accounts had to provide such proofs, and was relatively safely done within the app. I have credit cards that did not ask for such proof; they must have done it electronically. Two days later and still haven't heard from them how to proceed. So I called and cancelledl my application. 😬0 -
My ``technical gremlins" seem to've struck again.
For the last few months whenever I've tried receiving a OTP from YBS via text the texts haven't arrived, but receiving the code as a phone call to the same number works.
YBS have investigated and said they haven't a clue what's causing the issue but have paid me £75 as an apology for the inconvenience it's causing. Oh I do love a good complaint.

I've only got £1 in YBS so haven't logged in for ages, but thought it was worth a go to see if I could get £75 out of themBridlington1 said:My ``technical gremlins" seem to've struck again.

No such luck - text code is working fine for me. Oh well, worth a try! 1 -
I was getting this with Coventry at one point and the culprit was some third party security service they were attempting to load on the page, but which my browser was blocking. Do you have any form of tracking protection or similar enabled?Bridlington1 said:My ``technical gremlins" seem to've struck again.

Yes, it's annoying when that happens.clairec666 said:

I like little technical issues like this, doesn't stop me from doing what I need to do (can still access online banking just can't receive codes by text) so inconvenience suffered is minimal, but it bamboozles their IT and is enough to warrant a complaint which the building society'll uphold and pay a nice little apology soon after.
I've got adblockers, GIF blockers and video blockers on my main browser but have turned them all off, cleared all cookies and cache and used multiple browsers for logging into YBS, tried one laptop and two different phones and had the same issue on each so don't think this is the culprit.masonic said:

Also tried my SIM in 4 different phones to no avail so can't be the device. I'm also not having issues receiving OTPs from other banks/building societies.2 -
For that amount of detective work, I think you've earned your £75Bridlington1 said:

It seems I'm doing well for complaints lately.
Manchester BS decided to stop accepting payments into my regular saver and rainy day saver last month until I provided them with proof of address and ID, which I quickly did before failing to inform me that they also needed 3 months of bank statements from my nominated account as well.
I made a complaint to Manchester BS regarding this and they've given me £25 as a gesture of goodwill for their delays which they blamed on them rolling out a new process at their end.
That takes me to a nice round £100 in complaints this month.5
