It seems I'm doing well for complaints lately.

Manchester BS decided to stop accepting payments into my regular saver and rainy day saver last month until I provided them with proof of address and ID, which I quickly did before failing to inform me that they also needed 3 months of bank statements from my nominated account as well.

I made a complaint to Manchester BS regarding this and they've given me £25 as a gesture of goodwill for their delays which they blamed on them rolling out a new process at their end.

That takes me to a nice round £100 in complaints this month.
:o I'd love to know their reasoning behind needing 3 months of statements. Are they planning to offer you a mortgage at the end? ;)

The reason they gave in the complaint resolution email was:
following an internal review and for enhanced due diligence we subsequently requested additional documentation: two further Bank Statements to cover a 3-month period.
For context when asked for proof of ID and address originally I'd sent them a scan of my passport and two bank statements, one of which was from my nominated bank account. I didn't hear from them for about a fortnight barring an email to say they'd received my documents and were reviewing them so chased them and this is when they asked for the 3 months of bank statements.

They said the thing that had originally triggered them wanting proof of ID and address was a letter they sent to me getting returned to them, which seems odd as I had received a letter from them shortly before to authenticate my nominated account.

Very bizarre. If someone else can produce one of your recent bank statements at will, chances are they'd be able to produce three.

Good old Royal Mail. Just received several days' worth of post in one go. Including two from Principality - one telling me that my account is about to mature and outlining my maturity options, and the other thanking me for submitting my maturity options.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Santander to send me online banking details.
"For security purposes, these letters will arrive separately."
No they won't, they'll arrive on the same day. Just like all the debit cards and PINs that arrive together.
There was a TV investigation a few months ago into RM (Dispatches,  I do believe). Was hilarious and frustrating in equal measure.... they sent several letters (with Trackers inside) from London to Birmingham.  The letters took ages (8 to 14 days was not uncommon) ... the trackers revealed that the letters spent most of their time sat in the local Sorting Office ... RM's response was to heavily criticise Dispatches for using trackers ! , claiming that trackers are not allowed in letters....says it all really,  lol .

Not just RM. Correos in Spain like to leave all the mail for apartment blocks on top of the bank of individual letter boxes below.

I can confirm that TSB cards and PINs do NOT arrive on the same day. one arrives, then leaves you tapping your fingers in irritation while waiting for the other...  I think my TSB PIN must be keeping my Cahoot online log in details company at the sorting office...

Remember many, many years ago when I was a young lad and in the days of a second delivery round about midday, I was in the next town to the village where I lived. I can’t remember why, but I had a lot of documents in a large envelope, so rather than carry this around I bought a first class stamp and wrote my name and address on the envelope in the post office. (This PO was a local sorting office as well). When I caught the bus home (I lived almost by the bus stop), I saw the postman putting the envelope in my front door. All in the space of about two hours. Absolutely true story. Can’t beat old fashioned commitment to service. 😉

It is quite worrying really, especially when you have a postie like mine who really needs to go to specsavers as he frequently deposits my neighbours' mail through my letterbox and I am presuming vice versa.

I think some forum members have an unrealistic expectation that delivery should be quick.
