Now to spend £200 on the debit next 2 months for the cashback!
Have your DD’s already paid out to get the money that quick
Switch bonus = move the account with 2x DD on it (they do not have to pay out) + join Barclays Blue
Barclays Blue = pay £5 a month, get £5 a month back provided you have 2 DD taken that month + pay in £800 to remain a member
Current offer in Blue (you need to register for it) = Cashback rewards - 5% cashback on up to £200 debit card spend (capped at £10 pay out hence £200 spend) for November and December
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

They also said I'll receive in an email a 5 digit pin to access my account via the app to set up banking that way. The 5 digit pin hasn't arrived yet.
Assuming this is Barclays, you can access your debit card details through the app once your PIN sentry activates

federer said:i am going to the branch today to show my ID as I applied through the app, what do i need to tell the branch staff so i am still eligible for the switch reward after the account is open and i do the switch.
do i need to make it clear to them i want the account opened through the app ?
I would stress that yes. From what a few posters stated earlier when they had to do branch visits, the branch staff did whatever they needed to verify ID and then they helped the applicants completed rest of the application through the app

federer said:if you started the switch today and answered no on the barclays app to having a debit card on the account you are switching over ( when you do actually have one - i forgot) will the switch complete or fail ?
i phoned my bank im switching away from straight away and cancelled the debit card and said dont send a new one..
Safest bet is to say you have a card and provide the card details, but if there's no active card on your donor account then you *should* be okay. Look forward to hearing how it goes

Might have misunderstood you there - you need the debit card details for your donor account to complete the switch. It doesn't matter if your Barclays card details have arrived or not
