do the DDs have to have already paid out on the account you're switching from or can they just be set up in the account you're switching from before you start the switch ie they would start taking money in December?

I've had no issues switching accounts with DDs that haven't paid out yet and still receiving the incentive.kuepper said:do the DDs have to have already paid out on the account you're switching from or can they just be set up in the account you're switching from before you start the switch ie they would start taking money in December?0 -
Hi, we were interested in opening this account, for us the App doesn't work. Have downloaded, removed and reloaded it a few times. There is no "new to Barclays" option and instead it keeps asking us to "register for the app", but the only way to do that is to give an existing account number, which we don't have as that's the whole purpose of using the App, to open a new account.
I saw some people on the first few pages of this thread were having a similar issue but it was supposed to have been fixed.
Is anyone else experiencing the same? Using an android device. Any tips on how to fix? Many thx.0 -
Are you sure it is not the Barclaycard app you are trying, which does only have a register option (I just had to reinstall it to get my Barclaycard credit card app working). The app to use is just called "Barclays'. If it is the right app, maybe try during the daytime, I couldn't continue an application overnight, so maybe it is disabled then, overnight maintenance etc.DIYhelp76 said:Hi, we were interested in opening this account, for us the App doesn't work. So apparently there's been some clarification on the T&Cs with respect to having previously held a Barclays account. The email this morning from Andy at Be Clever With Your Cash claims that Barclays have revised their interpretation of the terms such that anyone who didn't have a Barclays Current Account before 31Oct will now be eligible, which is the more lenient interpretation. Take it with a pinch of salt until the money is actually in your account, but seems to be some movement in the right direction.2

Andy at Be Clever With Your Cash has updated his guide to this switch ... https://becleverwithyourcash.com/barclays-switch-offer-2023/?utm_source=D2Cmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Banking_savings&utm_content=2023_11_09_headline
with reference to ...Can previous Barclays customers get the switch bonus?
You will be able to open a new Barclays account and apply for the switch (as per the conditions above) as long as you did not have an existing open Barclays current account on or since 31 October 2023.
So as long as you closed any previous Barclays current accounts before 31 October 2023, you will be ok with this offer.

Can I ask please, is Blue Rewards necessary? What problem/charge occurs without taking it out? Thanks.0

I installed the app yesterday. Couldn't open an account for technical issues. Noticed there was an update this morning. So I installed that. Still the same issue.
Bit of a farce, really.0 -
See the T&CS - Blue Rewards IS required, unless you open a Premier account. Without it the main problem will be that you don't get paid the £175, but if you don't care about that then you don't need to opt inChocolateWombat said:Can I ask please, is Blue Rewards necessary? Once the switch incentive is paid you can turn it off if you'd rather not have the hassle of maintaining it.

Hi. This is one of the conditions, that you take the reward scheme. It is £5 each month but you get a credit of same amount if you pay 2 Direct Debits and deposit £800. You can switch it off once they credit the £175. I am going to keep it on till end of year as you are getting 5% back on debit card spending until end of December. I put £130 on a Asda Christmas saver card, Asda will give me a £6 bonus and Barclays £6.50. Turkey Crown paid for.ChocolateWombat said:Can I ask please, is Blue Rewards necessary?
