Barclays £175 switch offer - new customers only, Nov 1 - 30 2023

Thanks 😊. Just curious if they had done any payments since that first batch. Have been patiently waiting but not expecting to get the £175 until 4th January going by other comments on here. Totally agree correspondence is very poor. So many texts / emails telling me they’ve sent important documents to read online yet when I look it’s all several days old that I’ve already seen, letters saying the switch is progressing about a week after it’s completed etc 🙄🫣. Once I get the £175 it’ll be Adios Barclays from me as well Have done loads of switches and this is definitely the worstMikeJXE said:
I opened the Account on the 7th and received the £175 on the 20th NovemberClare43 said:
MikeJXE - if you don’t mind can I ask when your switch into Barclays completed and when you got your bonus ? Just trying to see where they might be up to in payouts - although going by the mess Barclays have made of things so far it may not mean anythingMikeJXE said:Thank you Barclays for the £175
I have switch multiple times this year and I must say this bank is the worst I have come across
So it's goodbye from me I have switched out complete by 19th
All very simple at the beginning you just need to be patient because the correspondence is very poor.Save 12K in 2020. Number 133 -

I made the switch 30th November, done the Blue Rewards stuff, paid in £800, have been charged the £5 for being part of Blue Rewards, had the switch go through today (DDs have moved as well as my balance being paid in), and like some others in here, I'm getting the RPS01 error code when trying to pay money out. Live chat saying that not all checks have been completed yet (eye roll) and the app will send a notification when all features are unlocked. Has anyone else had this issue and notification?
I will be glad when the bonus is paid (it seems everyone on this thread is waiting for that) and I can switch out again to a proper bank (again, that seems to be the consensus here)!
P100 now though I think you could easily cut that in half if you exclude people asking questions that were either already answered because they didn't search or asking for confirmation of things that are written in the terms of the offer
Your security issue has been covered many times on this thread - it's a new account, they want to be sure it's not some money laundering where you are paying in £800 in and out immediately. Solution per previous answers is to setup a new payee and transfer a small amount in and out so their security systems learn your behaviour. Surely you would prefer that than to have someone setup a fraudulent account and bounce money around without checks?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

So, yesterday was supposed to be my switch date - but of course nothing happened. Contacted Barclays via chat, they told me the switch failed, and that they'll try to find out why. Switched accounts many, many times and never had that issue before.
Now, I wonder if there's still any way for me to get the offer? I did request the switch before the deadline, and it can still be done within 30 days of the original request.
Terrible, terrible experience overall - which is pretty much what I expected.0 -
Is there still no payment since the 20th1

Well no one on here has reported any more payments...unless someone posts differently that is all we know.Johnny-Cage said:Is there still no payment since the 20th1 -
If the switch can be reinstated and completed under the original reference within the 30 days then it shouldn't be a problem. Depends entirely on the reason for the failure. Were the direct debits successfully transferred, or did it fail even before they were set up?MagicByNature said:So, yesterday was supposed to be my switch date - but of course nothing happened. Absolutely nothing transferred. The only reason I could think of is that the donor bank (TSB) screwed up somehow, but I don't really see how.masonic said:

I did get the letter from Barclays that switch is being processed, all the details I've given were definitely correct, there shouldn't be any issues with the address etc. as I lived at current place for over 5 years.2 -
TSB has been mentioned several times as being problematic. Several have received errors from Barclays when trying to switch from TSB intimating that TSB accounts are not supported (despite them being a member of CASS). So perhaps there is some incompatibility between Barclays and TSB that creates issues in some cases.MagicByNature said:

Yes, I had the same error initially - but then I tried again during working hours (i.e. not in the middle of the night) and it worked just fine. Still, I expected it to work - I had switched from TSB before (though not to Barclays) and hadn't encountered any issues.masonic said:

Just got sick of it and switched into Chase for no reward but oh so simple
Opened at 1 o'clock, deposited funds, authorised the card into my Apple wallet and used it at Tesco at 3 o'clock
After all the faffing around, I want the bonus cash! I have another account though so I can still spend normally, just wanted to transfer money out.
@harz99 Absolutely spot on!
I was also wondering when the £5 from Blue Rewards gets added, is it as soon as the £800 and two DDs have been fulfilled, or is it on a set date each month?
The Blue Rewards fee is taken on the 2nd working day of the month following you joining (ie. join in Nov, fee taken at start of Dec). Any reward payments for having DDs pay out, etc should be credited to your reward balance at the same time if you are eligible.
