Evening ladies
You know how I rant about workmen not turning up? Well, what better way to be woken on a Saturday than two tractors and a digger on your drive at 8am 😳😳😳😳. I switched my phone off last night (child free, wanted a break) - if I’d left it on I’d have known they were coming…
Long story short, we got the sheep loaded and I headed off with them. My lawn is now a churned up quagmire 🫣🫣🫣 destroyed by their digger BUT the part of the field that was scraggy and stony looks MUCH better. Or it will when it’s turfed, it looks like a mud bath at the moment.
Flying.. hmm. DS has fresh bedding for his arrival home tomorrow. Laundry drying in front of fire. Floors are filthy; now the dogs have to go out for a wee in a mud bath because my lawn is no more…. I did buy a new mop but it’s still in the box…
@mumtoomany thank you! I’ll let you know when they arrive xx
Hugs to everyone. I hope your houses are cleaner than mine!!9 -
ASB. I promise you my house is not cleaner than anyones here!! It is an utter sh**tip
We currently have no bed.. the mattress is on the landing and everything.
OH's bookcase is emptied onto the naked bed frame but I have vacuumed 1000 dust kangaroos and wiped the insulating layers off shelves.
Feargal is on charge.I've folded 4 loads of laundry and washed 2 more.DW x2kitchen swept and the muddy half mopped1 binbag filled so far though I am sure if OH stopped looking and 25 year old receipts trying to work out what they were for things would go a lot quicker.
I am trying to get an extension lead threaded neatly behind the bookcase and the bed rather than draped over the floor.
The original plan for the room is not going to work so I had a swift rethink and we are leaving the bed where it is and sliding everything up.. it should leave a 60-70cm space between the drawers and OHs desk and some usable space... and some floor to walk on. I am working on this!
OH doing pizza. Squeak back from her friends and I am sat here trying to get my head to stop spinning. I almost passed out moving the bookcase. I think I just need to eat.
I am taking a box into Moomins room and building her a little plastic storage unit for her makeup and bits.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
This morning I baked the mincemeat and put it into jars. The screw lids on the ones for my DC have popped nicely; the lid on one of my jars hasn't, but that's OK - it hasn't got to travel anywhere, and I shall use it up first when I start making mince pies.
I finished mixing and baked my 8" square birthday-anniversary-Christmasifthere'sanychanceofacrumbortwoleftbythen cake and a 7" round for one of my offspring, filled the DW and did all the other washing up [NB that was flying], but then - unsurprisingly after yesterday's multiple forms of exercise* - I went very tired and decided to leave the top-up shop until on my way home from church tomorrow. Rosie has had only a 10-minute walk today, as it has poured with rain all afternoon, but it was necessary to take her out well before the fireworks started up again. There are bangs and crackles and booms all round as I type, and the rain still hasn't stopped. Coming back up the lane was like walking upstream against a fast-flowing river, as even our pure sandy soil is saturated!
*Narc0, I occasionally do a lot in a single day, but it generally knocks me out for 48 hours afterwards!
DH went out for a couple of hours to a little model railway show, so is a happy bunny.
Time for me to do about half an hour of photo sorting, then I'll go and cook our usual Saturday risotto and we'll enjoy Strictly. I must remember to take my washing sack down and introduce it to the WM [NB good intentions!]
Hope you all enjoy the evening xxx

Morning all xx
Before getting up I caught up with FB, this thread and the decluttering thread. Completed Worldle (glad it wasn't only me @Suffolksue ) and Wordle. And thought about flying and decluttering.
I'm now up, made my bed, taken my meds, flipped over the eternal calendars, set a load of washing swishing, thrown out some very squishy tomatoes and come ancient potatoes (not very mse but infinitely preferable to botulism or some such.) And made a brew.

Morning all
Feeling a bit glum this morning. Went out last night with SIL and some of her friends that I know quite well and didn't really enjoy it. Felt strangely disconnected from it all, struggled to find anything to say to anyone and just wanted to come home. Maybe my social skills are even worse than I thought.
Could do with getting out of the house today but don't think DH wants to go anywhere. The decorating does need finishing. I feel some angry flying coming on.10 -
Some FLYing done over the last couple of days - toilet cleaned, fresh towels put out, couple of loads of laundry done. I have ironing to finish off tonight - probably about an hour max.
@YORKSHIRELASS, sorry to hear you are feeling glum and didn't enjoy your night out. It's a rubbish feeling. Sending hugs if needed.
@pigpen, I love clean bedding too. Nothing better than getting into bed and it feels all fresh and clean. My lovely OH also has a cable collection, along with random nails, screws, batteries (both used and new) and a range of other bits that drive me to distraction. His motto is 'I'll leave it there for now' and it stays there for months until either I move it or he's looking for it again and can't find it8 -

Washing has had an extra spin and been draped on the airer. Yesterday's washing is now finishing off on the radiators.
Sorry to hear you're feeling glum YL. Big hugs heading your way. Xxx
Hope Squeak got on OK with her MRI piggers. Just the thought makes me squirm bless her. (I'm claustrophobic.)

A nice easy start to the day for me, as had a long lie and my first cuppa of the day in bed before getting up.
Still to complete from this week:
Clean the window in the bedroom
Check finances and make a list of payments due out this month.
Make a festive food list and decide when to purchase.
Look into a new bin for the bathroom and order.
Dust the laptop, work landline phone, and desk.
Make a start on ordering festive food.
Order animal feed.
Today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Laundry
Do spot-on treatment for the animals.
Do homework for next week's classes.
Tackle ironing mountain.
Sort through another 2 bags that were taken out from under the stairs.
Do some work on revision notes for uni exams (6 weeks to go)
Take the kids to the local fireworks display this evening.
Think that is everything that I am going to try and achieve today.10 -
Dear Flyladies
I am just popping in to say thank you.
I woke up stupidly early today and was surfing the boards, but you inspired me to get my a* in gear
I have done two loads of washing which are on the line, I think one of you posted if the floor is dry to hangout so I have done and seeing the washing blowing in the breeze is lovely.
I have blitzed the kitchen worktops, sorted the fridge, put on the DW, put all the recycling out.
Hoovered and dusted in the lounge, but decided to go a step further, carpet cleaner was dug out and the lounge carpet is now deep cleaned.
Stripped the bed and put that in the wash.
Flung open some windows to let in some fresh air in and cleared all the ironing.
This afternoon after a quick food shop I will venture back upstairs :-)
Thank you all again xx10
