Toni'sfriend said:Absolutely, Weenancy. I found out that my mother had a cousin from New Zealand who was torpedoed twice in the Russian convoys during the war, Turned up on my Granny's doorstep in Scotland with only the clothes on his back to his name. They had never met him before. Just totally amazing stories. When you get it all in to perspective you just go WHAT!!!!.11

Not sure what to say about today. I've been out and toddled mid way up the main pedestrianised area. It was sort of raining, my outer layer got damp but nothing went through my thick cs bargain cardigan. Had to stop and rest both going and coming back. Lots of small bags went out to the bin - DS3 had tidied the mess around the couch into 3 small black bags and there were a couple which I did last week. 2 trips with bottles, a chuck it in the oven dinner from the freezer and took out a bag of cauliflower and a bag of onions to defrost.(using bulky things first)
I've checked out what steps I need to take tomorrow to move things on a stage (need to print out a form at the library, fill it in and then deliver it), finished all the trees on one of my woodland animal panels and started another (they should all be done in the same colour but I tried 6 suppliers before I found any and could then only get enough to do the background of the plaques, so I've used a variety of off whites and silvery browns from my use up stash).
Grateful for progress (slow and still a bit here and there) and coping well with odd dizzy spells, resisting several sales (must use what I have - definitely erring on the buying craft supplies being a totally different hobby to using them) good books, good drama, good films (Went the Day Well?), easy peelers, carrots and celery and eating from the freezer.9 -
Hugs & get well wishes to all the poorlies. Glad your DH is ok after his fall @Toni'sfriend.
I've had a lovely day! A little lie in, followed by a 4.5 mile walk with DH. It was quite mild, no wind & sun between the clouds. Lots of rabbits were scampering in the fields 😃 Read my book whilst eating dinner, then moved the woodpile from the side of the house. DH saw a 'Roland' heading under there the other day & panicked itdt tunneled under the house. No sign of any tunnels, but the air vent had a big hole in it. It has now been blocked up. Hoping Roland is on the outside, not inside the cavity wall....
Sewed new zips in 2 coats, then after tea I did another strip of my rug.
Two things out if the house today will be the 2 coats I've sewed.
Grateful for finally emailing my best friend from school, a nice surprise to get a reply so quickly, pottering outside, going for a nice walk with DH, feeling happy & relaxedUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

What a fabulous weekend! I socialized but didn't blow the budget. I turned down an invite to lunch today, and also a birthday gathering - I can't do everything after all. But we got some walking done and I made a nice budget-friendly Sunday dinner.
1 more NSD, then!
Decluttering: Added 2 books and an unused cat bed to the charity bag. Plus I have taken photos of my boots I'm going to sell on eBay.Keep reading books!

Today ended up being a spend day. Roommate G wanted to go grocery shopping this morning. He doesn't drive because he sometimes drinks a lot. So I took him and got some items for me too. Still under budget for the month. Also paid one of my credit card bills today.
But it ended up being a very fun day as we made it to my sister's finally to put up three Christmas trees. I still think there are several hundred ornaments on the tree I put up. We would usually come back the day after Thanksgiving to do some more trees, but my sisters, their OHs, and my nephew and his family are going camping on the beach this week. Will need to decide on another day to come back and work on the trees. She may only be putting up 9 or 10 more trees. (Usually 23-28!). Most are not little trees being 6-7 feet tall. Decluttered a box of books and a box of games to play in their camper as it is their wedding anniversary this week (49th). A lot of the books were on traveling to Ireland as my BIL loves it there (his father was all Irish).
We will be having Thanksgiving at home instead. Turkey already cooked and in freezer. Everything bought and ready to go.
Hopefully this will be a quiet week with only a few hours at the library straightening up a carts from the book sale (made $390). The library staff that helps us move the carts liked having the sale in the meeting rooms because they only have to move the carts from one room to another versus out into one room, into the hallway, up the lift, and out onto the library floor, then out the front door and into place, but we make less there. It seems to me that we make more when we are outside, a little less when we are in the meeting rooms, and lot less when we only use the lobby upstairs (because we can't put out most of the carts). Where we are depends on the weather and what other groups are in the meeting rooms.
Looks like we will having good weather all week. Hope everyone stays warm and dry.10 -
Supermarket sweep dash to the shop today.
As I was loading everything in the fridge/freezer, the electrics went again.
Got things plugged into extensions round the kitchen, so everything's fine. Just wish all the people I've called to come give me a quote weren't being so elusive. They keep cancelling/forgetting. Three of them now!
Please come, sparkies, I need my house fixed!Keep reading books!
