Yesterday was fairly awful - another rock got lobbed into my plans and I was struggling not to give up hope. Today I went back to the opticians and my glasses now fit on my face without smooshing my eyelashes. Before that I spoke to the woman at the housing association re mum's tenant's new home. With DS3's help I formatted and sent the replies i did last night (tenant reference) and between us (me, mum's tenant and the lady from the housing association) I hope he will be offered the bungalow and the upper management won't insist on challenging the eviction through the courts. Feel much calmer now (have been sewing and watching Endeavour since I came back home).
Grateful for still getting some things done despite being miserably ill (told the lady I did not know how long my voice would hold out - I couldn't phone her yesterday), hoping I've got things back on track, lots of easy food from stores (yoghurt, tinned soup and fruit, salmon and broccoli melt, ice cream) which didn't hurt my throat.14 -
Today I am grateful for lunch out with friends who paid for us, for dc being okay at home while we were out, for a little morning trot, for audiobooks, for skip diving providing dc with a new better coloured bedside table.

I almost blew a NSD, but we had to cancel going to my sister's house this Sunday because her son is moving stuff into her house temporary and we wouldn't have room to work on trees, so I didn't have to go get gas yet. Then I took my roommate to shop, and I had a list from another roommate, but she paid for it because it was all for her. Then I went to a fast food place where I had a gift card from my sister's dog. I got food for the three of us - but they were having trouble with the card in the machine. Fortunately, he was able to put the number in manually and it worked! So no spend there. Then we went home to have lunch. And I didn't go out again. So I made it. NDS7
Both roommates bought a lot to make sure they make it through the rain next week - or at least until Wednesday when we will be going to the bank and the grocery store again. All I need is a box of graham crackers and a bottle of milk. I have milk to last that long at least. So hoping that will be my next spend day unless I have to get gas earlier. Hard to tell with our gas tanks as when it reaches 1/4 tank, it seems to disappear faster.
We are getting ready for rain though. Expecting 2 inches of rain where I live. But the weather people are having trouble getting it right.11 -
I am grateful I have managed 7 nsd days so far, I am half way through my budget and have about half left, even after taking boys out on a b'day jolly last weekend, and splurging £12 on Christmas candles at the R4nge, although am now set untill 2026.
I am grateful I was able to take a day out yesterday to spend with the folks in my print studio and then going home and doing some drawing.
Happy weekend all.

Hugs @grandmanerd, it sounds like you are having a really tough time. Be kind to yourself, you always push yourself so much, maybe allow yourself some downtime?
@f0xh0les - love how actively you are MANAGING your builders! Brilliant! 😂👏
In terms of my week - over intense, days too long, too much happening at once at home and in work. But, I did get out and walked around the site at lunchtimes in 4 out of 5 days this week and two circuits on three of those days. Quite happy with that as a new habit 😊

I went out this morning to the charity shops to try and find a sparkly dress for my one and only Christmas Party - did find one in my size that was not awful, but sadly it was made for a giraffe - at least a foot too long for me - and had an asymmetric hem that would have been a b*gger to alter. So it stayed behind to wait for the giantess it will fit.Did find 3 pretty star decorations, 3 silvered votive holders, 3 black long sleeved t-shirts, 2 mugs, and a bracelet that I can add bells to, to make me jingle, all for £7. Nice start to the weekend. Keep warm and dry, my sparkling Turtle-Friends.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh, what a day! Got a text from the Boy saying he was in the emergency department at the Dental Hospital. The lovely GF had treatment at her own dentist on Thursday. She's one of those unfortunate people who has to be knocked out prior to surgery. She woke up half way through an extraction. They send her home telling her to come back in a fortnight without any medication or instructions. Of course, the tooth is massively infected and she's been in agony ever since. Dental Hospital can't do anything until the infection clears. After the Boy asking to speak to several dental surgeons she has strong painkillers, antibiotics, strong mouthwash etc, Still in massive pain, panicking about further treatment, the Boy is in tears and I'm too far away to be of any practical use. Grrr.
- Health and Wellbeing - Walked to the chemist to pick up a prescription and took to opportunity to pick up some bandages etc to stock up the first aid box. Fish and roasted veg for tea. Chicken and sweetcorn soup made for tomorrow's lunch and chicken marinading for a coq au vin tomorrow. This is an effort to get Himself eating. He's barely eating enough to sustain a sparrow. He had another fall on Thursday night. It was too late for me to seek help from an neighbour and I can't help him up. He refuses to see a doctor. It's vey worrying.
- Household - Ironed the bedding I washed yesterday and washed all the cushion covers and throws, Really want everything looking tidy and clean for Christmas,
- Garden - Magpies dive bombed the pots again. Luckily there were no plants. Just compost but what a mess. Found a container unit . Arriving on Monday
- Declutter - Upstairs neighbour has moved out so I'm taking advantage of an empty bin. Another few things gone
- Socialise - Didn't have any time really
House smelling gorgeous. Really need that bit of relaxation today
Have a lovely evening. xxx
