Our schools have a 48 hour exclusion policy from the last bout of sickness or diarrhoea . It just stops the winter vomiting thing going round and round. Very wise to keep him off.
I am in a nice hotel East of Doncaster. I drove up at lunchtime, and it was fine, but I am not looking forward to a 2 + hour drive home in the dark tomorrow. I am looking forward to the milage being paid though. Swings and Roundabouts innit?
Accidently seem to have an interview for a full time job on Thursday morning. I really should not apply for jobs when I am in a bad mood, or to prove a point. When will I ever learn??

Worried all weekend about the Christmas meal booked by our friend for 6 instead of 7 of us. Mum rang her to say we weren't happy leaving someone out and that we thought the 7th lady should be invited. Our friend turned it round as though nothing was wrong and said of course we should invite her. I can't quite understand what's going on but hope it was a genuine oversight. Phew. All sorted.
@Thrifty_Taylor - fingers crossed your lovely earring is found.
@weenancyinAmerica - hope you manage to go to Scotland with your friend. Start planning!
Went to my niece's tonight to celebrate her birthday. Lovely Greek takeaway of flatbread wraps and gyros followed by chocolate gateau and prosecco - yum yum. Then walked round the block looking for her toddler's hat that she thinks she dropped yesterday. Unfortunately it was brand new, dark green and impossible to find in the dark!
Notified that work had a power cut so to go in an hour later. Put my unsexy longjohns on under my jeans as the heating won't be working and it's perishing when you're sitting doing assembly work.
Used a discount voucher at Mount Warehouse towards a new fleece and mum used one on a lovely fleece jacket for her little grandson so over £10 saved.
Booked my friend and I on a free craft class this Sunday with a local recycling charity. We'll be making Christmas decorations from vintage sheet music and they'll be used to decorate trees in the church Christmas tree festival. We should then get them back in time for Christmas.
2 NSD. Grateful for a craft class to try with my friend, getting the Christmas meal problem sorted and a nice time at my niece's. X

Glad you got your problem re the Xmas meal sorted @Esmeralda2662. @beanielou, great news - I FOUND MY EARRING! I went to work a little earlier & had a look in the playground, near the classroom I would've been in & out of yesterday. It was silver side up, rather than red, so a little harder to see against the tarmac, but I'm so chuffed! 😃
Had felt queasy first thing, so didn't exercise today. Pupil off today, so had a day totally in the classroom for a change, which was nice.
Put some things I'd sorted the other day, in the shed with other things for the CS. Helped DS3 activate his new online bank a/c & I phoned to transfer & close his old a/c. Tidied all my quilling things into a new storage box, as the bag they were in was ripping down the side.
After tea, I sorted through material & found matching bits to make 3 chickens, so cut them out. Had a long bath with my book, then ironed the chicken pieces.
Work bestie messaged to tell me she's got covid, so pleased I'm wearing a mask again.
Grateful for finding my earring, finding a piece of chocolate cake in the staff room when I was ravenous, getting DS3's a/c sorted outUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Yaay for the job interview @f0xh0les! 😊👏Is it an interesting role, do you want it, should we start warming up the interview vibes? 😊
@Esmerelda glad the party thing is sorted - all sounds a bit game-playing and like someone has been called on bad behaviour they were hoping to get away with, to me ….
@Thrifty_Taylor - whoop for finding the earring! 🎉🤩 So sad when you lose the pair to a favourite set.Walking is going okay for me - only one circuit if the site yesterday as there was huge equipment moving happening at the bottom of the site, right by the path and it didn’t feel brave enough to go through that twice! Today could be interesting weather wise ….

I'm struggling but carrying on, as long as I don't do anything strenuous I think I'm okay. So clothes were put on hangers, the next lot of dry clothes were packed in a rubble sack but have not yet been brought upstairs, 2 boxes were cut up and more bits added to the paper bin and DS3 had so many reminders to put it out that he started sighing and then being sarcastic.
Meals for the day were determined by DS3 who told me not to put things in 'their' freezer and I also defrosted a pack of frozen berries which I ate with 'special' ice cream (wonderful for my throat and helped bring my temperature down). Currently working my way through oat cakes and cheese spread - there were tomatoes but have eaten the first packet and not been downstairs for the other one.
I have set up the next lot of rubbish/ recycling containers, I want to fill another bin bag by the end of today. Lots of other things I want to do but will have to see how I get on. I have to go to collect my glasses and have them fitted to my peculiar face and would also like to take books back to the library if the rain eases off - don't think getting soaked through will help with anything. A bag for washing up and bags/ boxes for other things as I come across them (shoes before I step on one the wrong way and fall)
Will Co are back in business, online and opening 3 stores (ex-employees will be given priority for jobs) so I'm writing a list (exciting stuff - bin bags etc) but most things are not yet in stock.
Grateful for books (have found the really good author has written quite a lot of other things). The one I read was third in a series - set in London but then one of the central character's early life was set in Parbold (near here - well far side of the borough) and various similar locations were mentioned (along the train route from Wigan to Southport), the drama series (just started the seventh and last series), my bed (must tidy as I was trying not to fall off yesterday) and food in the fridge, freezer and shelves - I could clear the soup shelf in a fortnight.11 -

Hello, and I hope everyone is doing ok and keeping warm and dry today!
As I expected, life is getting busier and busier, but I really want to catch up here as regularly as possible! Had a good and productive Saturday, where I re-organised a corner of the kitchen which was bothering me and now looks much better, and I am finally making good use of it (I turned it into a "coffee and tea" corner), then I washed more of the Summer seasonal clothes (only have 1 max 2 loads left) and then I did the bulk of seasonal change of wardrobe (complete with moments of pure despair between 7 and 8 pm on Saturday night). Only have 1 box left to open, which I will do once the last few clothes are washed and dried, so probably next week at some point.
Sunday OH and I spent the day at a friend's house, who is recovering from surgery, cooking a lovely roast dinner and then relaxing and watching a couple of movies, which was really nice. Poirot movies are really among "comfort" watches!
Between the kitchen and the wardrobe, I managed to get rid of a few things, so my count for "remove" is looking quite good for the time being!
Yesterday evening I had my monthly book club, and I didn't particularly enjoy the book this month (at least some parts of it), it was weird to be the only disruptive voice in the discussion, but it was also quite fun. I am really enjoying the book club, and I'm thinking, where have book clubs been my entire life!!!
Tomorrow I'm supposed to fly to my hometown to do a couple of life admin things on Friday (and visit the dentist) and to spend some needed time with my family, but looks like almost the entire family has caught covid this week, so I am a bit unsure on what I should do. Looks like I could stay with my brother as his household (for now) is healthy, which would definitely delight my 6 year old nephew (and me), but I wouldn't be able to see the rest of the family, which is one of the main reasons why I'm going now, even if I'm flying again soon for Xmas. I suppose we will all know tomorrow!
Some updates on my challenges: I am now on 5 NSD's out of 15, and I have managed to bring my lunch to work yesterday, and I can count the very vigorous dog walk I did on Saturday as proper exercise, so it's looking good there!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Didn't post yesterday as I had a busy day at work and both OH and I fell asleep on the sofa at about 8pm! It was a NSD, and I also got a workout in at the gym, first time in 2 weeks following holiday and illness. Didn't manage any decluttering yesterday.
Today I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep, so eventually got up and decluttered The Kitchen Drawer - you know that drawer that everyone has that's full of everything that doesn't have a proper home! So have made up for the lack of decluttering yesterday. I've also listed a childhood teddy bear on ebay as it should have some resale value and I don't really "need" it. Made it to the gym again after work today, pushed myself a fair but as won't be able to get back for a few days, definitely going to be feeling it tomorrow!10
