Oh I see. That’s no use to me as I want to keep the money in Euros. I don’t want to lose money by exchanging into Pounds, and then some more by changing to Euros again. I’ll just keep spending my remaining Euros with my Starling cardprettyandfluffy said:
You can send the money as a payment from Starling in € and it will arrive in your Global Money Account in £ but you won't have been charged a fee. Mine took 24 hours to arrive. Go into the Global Money Account and choose "view more" to see your account details.friolento said:
I'd like to do the same. How do you deposit € into the Global Money account please?prettyandfluffy said:
* I have in fact transferred all the odd € amounts I had sitting in Starling and Revolut accounts to the Global Money Account so can easily spend or transfer them from there.0 -
…but bear in mind you would have no confirmation of the Euro>GBP conversion rate used as it would be done automatically, and not necessarily in your favour. If you have a reasonable amount I would suggest opening a (free) HSBC Euro currency account so you can receive Euros into it, and then select ‘add money’ from within the Global Money menu, and transfer the funds across that way.prettyandfluffy said:

That sounds a plan 👏EDIT: it takes two days from account opening before you can use the HSBC Currency Account. Longer if you haven't got a qualifying HSBC current account yet.0 -
Quick update. I've been asked to provide my last 3 months worth of payslips. I think they think I told porkie pies! Still awaiting with bated breath . . .BiB xDF

Cheers for this, I've just transferred a random virgin current account I've never actually used!prettyandfluffy said:
No, it's free of charge. Tip: I just got rid of my Starling account (£) by switching to Lloyds, do it by 14th Nov to get £175 reward. No need to have any direct debits etc set up.Deec said:I think I'll ditch Starling too. With the HSBC account, if I need to pay in Euros and convert to £, is there a fee like the .4% Starling charge? Are there any other bank switches (without having to set up DD's) to get free cash?
Is there a forum on here that specifically discusses these offers?
Thanks again0 -
On this (banking) board there will typically be one main thread per offer, although that doesn't avoid plenty of repetition when people start extra ones without checking first!SickGroove said:

The main MSE bank article is usually fairly reliable in summarising the current offers, albeit it's always recommended to check the providers' own websites for definitive terms: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/#switch1 -
Thanks for the tip on Lloyds. Just switched out of Starling and so did the Missus. so £350 quid.1
