LBG paper statement "issues"

As I said!Think it an issue with the printers etc so for example instead of 100 printers they got 10 so have to cut down on paper statements till they can fix it & get more statements! but can still request them if needed customer who don’t bank online can still have them!Let’s see if they add paper statements back or charge for them
wish LBG told us the reason0 -
I have called them twice now, first person (called after I got a email) said there was no issue with paper statements and I would get them as normal as per my preference. I assumed the email was a scam.
Second person (called when I got the letter) told me it was temporary but he couldn’t tell me what the issue was or when it would be fixed “as it is confidential”. Is it a permanent change, I asked. Of course not he said. 🤣🤣🤣
I told him we needed them for ID at times, “you can print at home” - only if you have a printer - “or in a branch” - what is one of them? I can only assume that he lives in a large city!
I also pointed out that a home printed statement wouldn’t be accepted as formal ID by most institutions. If it’s a printing issue, why don’t they tell us that. And why does the letter not say, we have temporarily paused paper statements. Rather than “We’ve moved your statements from post to paper-free”
I would bet a lot of money on never seeing a paper Lloyds statement again.2 -
I must say I think if you manage your banking on line then statements on line are quite acceptable. I must confess though that being a little anal I do print out one page that has all the figures on it. But as long as you download & keep in one file it shouldn't be a problem. It is when you don't download & then close your account you could have a problem. It must be difficult though if you don't do online banking.

It is a problem when needing to provide a statement as address ID. My young adult DC live at home and only have bank statements with their address on it. Both have had to use them recently for address ID.
Many organisations specifically state that the statements must be originals, not printed from a PC. Plus not everyone with online banking has a printer, and not everybody can access a branch (and even statements printed at branches aren’t always acceptable).Until organisations who ask for address ID accept photocopies/downloaded statements, then paper statements must be provided for people who need them!2 -
So it's the responsibilty of your bank to provide you with proof of address?2

I hope it’s temporary issue for statements not permanent online statements!
i prefer paper statements & will try my best to keep them

It must be temporary; otherwise what would they do about people who don't do online banking?0

That’s what we hope they must cater for people who don’t bank online or need statements0

Randomly I received a paper statement from Halifax this morning, the only one I've had.
It was for the Everyday Saver for the period 24 March 2023 to 24 October 2023 showing two transactions:
02 Oct 23 £250 in from my current account
02 Oct 23 £250 out to my regular saver
... whoops!
6 pages on 3 sheets of A4.1
