    Good morning!

Dinner was lovely last night! Feels a bit strange to have someone cooking for me - especially when he does it in my house (my kitchen is much bigger)! Another plus about him, is that I mentioned once about snapping receipts in my apps and now he keeps giving me his receipts! It's the small things! Then had a very fun game of netball - we lost but it doesn't really bother me!

    Today's bits and bobs:

    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Take leftover lasagna to work for lunch
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Take plant home from work
    • Stop at Lidl on way home as have a £5 voucher expiring today
    • Going to a pub with friends tonight but think I'm driving
No firm plans for the weekend other than pub tonight, will be seeing new guy and a couple of friends have mentioned plans but we'll see what happens!

Office plants can get very neglected, @twiggy86. People might lob a bit of water over them now & again, but feeding & re-potting in my experience fall under that category of 'not really anybody's job'. If you haven't already, knock it out of its pot & look at the roots. If they are congested, that's defo time for a re-pot, also if the soil looks worn out & tired. With a bigger pot of new compost & regular feeding with any house plant feed, I'm sure it will be a fabulous triffid in no time!

Thank you @foxgloves - it definitely looks a bit sorry for itself at the moment but hopefully it 1) looks good in the space I'm envisioning and 2) comes back to life with a bit of TLC!

So you mentioned once about the receipts & he gives you his.  AND you can see what he has been buying.  And he cooks.  I will say no more!

I spent over an hour this afternoon reading through your whole post and I just want to say I think you’re amazing, well done for being strong with your ex and well done for being so careful and determined with your finances, wishing you a bright and happy debt free future

Sorry, I had a week off work so went AWOL again!

@badmemory - he definitely seems like a keeper for many reasons! Have been very open about my financial situation with him so he understands the financial and mental balancing I'm doing!

@Boss1815 - thank you so much for not only taking the time to read through my waffling and for your kind words.

So I had a lovely week off, although it was well timed as had various pieces of bad news - not all things that directly affect me but those around me. Well it was the one year anniversary of being cheated on which made me wobble slightly - not that I want ex in any way, shape or form, but dealing with the emotion of being chose I wasn't enough. However, I've dealt with that and over it now! I spent a lot of the week pottering and sitting! Did take myself to my favourite place one day and sat on the beach reading a book and eating a packed lunch!

Plus my dining table was finally delivered! Changed the living room so much and I am so happy with how the room looks now! Just needs the finishing touches (like some artwork on the wall) and then it will be done!

Overall, I didn't spend much money - £35 from my personal spends for the week! This included going out for dessert with new bf last night and I treated him (he's bought me food a few times now!) So happy with that! I would have spent more as was meant to go out drinking with friends on Saturday, however bestie had received some bad news and her husband was away so I opted to go spend time with her. It was a good move as think it was what I needed as well - picnic in the sunshine whilst her boys played!

Back at work (normality) today, so today's bits and bobs include:
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Update spreadsheet (I did do this once last week but normally do daily)
    • Make CC payments now statements have come in (just the minimums for now)
    • Log in to finance page re dining table to check when payments will start (I do have the £84 set aside for this month, but may reallocate if payments don't start until next month)
    • Dinner from store for me and bf
Can't think of anything else for now!

    Morning all!

Yesterday ended up being a NSD which is good! Plus received my £5 reward from my bank so that has been shuffled into the misc savings pot. I also checked and the first payment for the table isn't due to come out until next month, but currently debating just making the payment early anyway given that the money is there!

    Today's bits and bobs:
    • Working from home so no petrol costs
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Claim £3.69 from TCB
    • Snap a receipt that I've just remembered is in my bag
    • Look into a receipt which was split across various "pots" but I haven't shuffled the money around yet
    • Walk to shop to grab something and get some fresh air at the same time
    • Lunch and dinner from stores - bf didn't come over last night, but coming round tonight instead so I switched around the plans
    That's everything for now!

    Morning!

Not sure I have much by way of an update (rambles!) for yesterday other than I completed my list! It's funny how much more "settled" it made me feel looking into that receipt and getting everything straight again!

So today's bits and bobs are:
    • Take leftover lasagna to work for lunch
    • Read latest MSE email
    • May look into buying a new phone as mine is on its way out slowly - struggle spending this much money in one go!
    • If money from TCB comes in, shuffle into misc savings
    • Continue considering what to do with the money set aside for the table
    • Work on crochet gift at lunch
    • Acro tonight - will pay the lowest amount

  • Hi I bought refurbished phone via Ebay from a highly rated seller (4gadgets) and used the Klarna option to pay interest free over 12 months. I could have paid outright, but I kept the money on deposit and earned some interest instead. V x

That's what I was thinking of doing @vampirotoothus - definitely won't be a new one! I've just bought my table on interest free and don't really feel like I want to add to that again so this time would rather pay cash.

I've looked at what it would cost me to upgrade my phone to this phone (£43) and what it would cost if I split the phone cost and my sim over a 48 month period (£17) - so it definitely seems worth buying a secondhand one over upgrading!
