I'm not sure I have too much by the way of updates but I'm sure I'll still be able to do a big ol' waffle!

House is the main thing - had a viewing on Monday before we'd even done the photos! However, haven't heard anything back yet so we'll see what happens! Have the estate agent coming round shortly do to the photos so that we can advertise regardless. Of course, any potential sale is tied to also selling bf's flat which might not be so straightforward as potentially need to extend the lease (or at least factor it in to the price).

This morning I have been pottering around to tidy up a bit and have cut the grass. At least the proposed move has me thinking about de-cluttering again! (Not that I've actually done anything yet, but at least the thought is there!) Still need to think about my goals for June - probably should add starting de-cluttering and/or sorting out a particular area of the house to the list! Main area will be the loft that needs sorting but the big decision will be what to do with ex's stuff that is still up there!

Yesterday I was in the office and managed a NSD - i.e. wasn't tempted to buy a cuppa! Today I'm at home and not sure what/if any plans I have this evening but hopefully won't spend anything!

    Today's bits and bobs..
    • Cut the grass
    • Tidy around
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Work on July goals
    • Meals from stores
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)

Thank you @KajiKita! New job seems to be going well - had a team lunch yesterday as someone is going on maternity soon and it was such a good laugh! I'm still getting up to speed and so don't have a full work load yet - although I am taking on the workload of person who is leaving for maternity once she's gone, so no doubt will get busier then! Drive into the office to days a week has been ok, although definitely using more petrol so will need to adjust the budget!

Back in the home office today! So the washing machine is on with the first load of clothes and I'll wash the towels when that finishes! I need to pop out for something and I also need to buy some bits online, so will be a slightly spendy day! However, I haven't spent much so far this month - I did get petrol on my way home last night but that comes from a pot.

However, not too much planned for the weekend - bf has his kids and his teenage son fell off his bike and has stitches in his knee so is pretty immobile! However, I think we are taking his mum out of the car home to a pub that is nearby so that everyone gets out the house at least! Other than that, we will just see how the weekend goes!

    Today's bits and bobs...
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Washing on 30 degree, quick cycle
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Pop tortoises in the garden
    • Order some bits online
    • Actually write down July goals!
    • Meals from stores

I was just looking at my June goals and thought I'd share a "funny" story re my knitted top...

So I'd finished it but the neckline was tight - i.e. hurt my face to take off as it wasn't stretchy enough. Well I'm a new knitter so this was my first time unpicking anything - did NOT successfully pull out the bind off and ended up having to pull out the whole ribbed neck (which resulted in lots of tangled yarn!) So I re-knit the entire neckline, bound off in a bigger needle, re-blocked and guess what... it now does not fit over my head at all!!!

I am yet to decided what to do with that so it it sitting in the naughty corner!!! Although it is summer top so need to crack on and fix it!

I also haven't yet finished my jumper, although I am on the bottom ribbing! So not too much to left to do - just struggling to find time when I'm actually sat down with time to pick it up! I did start another project, but again haven't had much time to work on it! I used to knit on my lunch break but I haven't had the confidence to sit and knit at my new job yet - silly really, as I shouldn't care and also some of them are crafters!

    • Do some de-cluttering
    • Print LOA forms for friend and get them sent off
    • Complete drivers awareness course  :(
    • Fix neckline on knitted top
    • Finish jumper
    • Book activities for Camp Wildfire when they open (so that I get my first choices!)

Would switching to a bigger needle size help loosen off the tension on the ribbing of the neckhole?

I did switch up a needle size!!! However I think as a result, I was less conscious of my tension and thought that the needle was enough (i.e. I didn't consciously bind off loosely!) Maybe I need a bigger needle and a different method - I just really don't want to face yarn ramen again!!!

Ugh ... frustrating! :( Maybe go 2 sizes bigger for the casting off row?  It sounds like a bit of practice at a small section of ribbing (12 stitches, 24?) to get the casting off tension right, might be worth a try begore going at the whole neckline again?
