If you didn't make a choice of location, then that is perhaps why the CNBC used the choice made by UKPC/DCB Legal.LAston1 said:I don’t recall making any selection of a location but if I did it definitely would have been Bristol as that is my nearest.1 -
Not sure that's lawful. But anyway the OP knows what to do to change it to his/her nearest court: I advised it already.KeithP said:

They must also urgently email (Coventry Court and copy in DCB Legal) in response to that Order from the Judge and OBJECT to the Order this week, on the basis that this is not the Defendant litigant-in-person's local court and the case was allocated in error to Coventry.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Both parties are asked to make their choice of venue.Coupon-mad said:
I thought it was the choice of the litigant in person that prevailed, but if one party didn't make a choice at all then it seems reasonable to me that the one choice that has been made should be accepted.1 -
Seems really unfair if so, given that, if the OP had counterclaimed, the case automatically gets allocated to the LiP's home court immediately, pre-N180. Why should a LiP who might have left the court blank get penalised?
I stand by my advice. It is reasonable to formally object to that Order within 7 days of it arriving and the OP must.
They certainly don't want to be "sent to Coventry" (IMHO a horrible ugly & dirty city, the worst I've ever visited in my life!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In the absence of specific instructions from the defendant, the CNBC does not automatically allocate the case to the claimant’s local court but rather defaults to the defendant’s local court based on the address provided in the claim.
tHis appears to be a case of the wrong court being allocated by the CNBC. Complain to them ASAP and get them to correct their mistake. Notifying the wrong court of the CNBCs mistake is also essential, as already advised above.2 -
More urgent is to object to the Order as the chance to do that is time-bound (seven days, usually).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I called CNBC this morning and they advised they cannot do anything regarding changing the location of the hearing and said I need to call Coventry Court to arrange for it to be moved to my local court. I then called them and after an hour on hold i was told to put in a “general application” for a change of court which they emailed me the link to the form but that it is going to cost me £303 to have it moved from Coventry to Bristol without the consent of the third party. What should I do now? I am not willing to pay £303 to change this.1

I have now emailed Coventry County Court and copied in DCB Legal and requested my case me reallocated to Bristol as it is my local court and i believe it was incorrectly allocated to Coventry2

Great! That was my advice. You had to urgently object to the Order from Coventry.LAston1 said:I have now emailed Coventry County Court and copied in DCB Legal and requested my case me reallocated to Bristol as it is my local court and i believe it was incorrectly allocated to CoventryPRIVATE 'PCN'?
