£2880 as it is £3600 less tax.  I'm sure you know this but other people read & may get it wrong!
  • Thanks badmemory I knew I was close but glad I know exact figure now

  • Didn’t even get an interview for the job I applied for . Part of me is gutted but the other part of me is relieved. The relief is due to the fact that the youngest has admitted that getting the bus to college in a morning is just too much for them. I’d guessed this would happen but I was really hoping you know….. It’s making them incredibly tired and they are so cold ( even thought they are so wrapped up) that they can’t feel their legs and feet for most of the day. This concerns me as they have poor circulation and cerebral palsy and this  could become painful. So they’ve asked to be taken in on a morning time but will catch the bus home. This is crushing for them as they were so proud of what they were doing and see it as a defeat. Going to need to bolster their confidence over the next couple of weeks. So probably a good job I didn’t get a job as I’m still needed more than I thought. Glad I opened my 🐞PP. Just need some side hustles to cover the deficit.
Youngest is ill again and has given it to me too. Hurrah 😤.

Sorry about the job. That’s a wee blow for youngest but that sounds like a plan going forward. Would they not qualify for transport to college?
Hope you are on the mend soon.

  • We’ve had transport in the past beanielou, but unfortunately the youngest couldn’t cope with the fact that it the taxi was never on time, would take different routes etc. Just too unpredictable which is a major cause of anxiety.

  • Have you tried journeying with youngest on the bus for a few weeks (I know a bit of a faff for you) to boost their confidence and if any issues crop up you are there to talk them through it and they may be able to make some friends/ acquaintances along the way? If you could get youngest to be more independent getting to and from college that would open up time/ opportunity for you to work. Hope you're all feeling better soon.

I'm sorry you didn't get the job and youngest is feeling the strain over travel. In my experience so many things are trial and error: perhaps when the weather's warmer, they could try again - or could anything be arranged with college to get them warmed up during the day? I would imagine the cold could affect joints and muscles more with cerebral palsy though that's just a guess.

There will be a job somewhere that will work for you. It might take a while and some thinking outside the box, but there's a feeling of rightness when you find the right thing. Meanwhile, be your own job coach: go over the application again and pretend you are a potential employer reading it. Ask friends what they would say your strengths are. Practice interview questions - etc. You'll get there.

  • Sorry to hear about youngest. Maybe remind them that often just trying things is a big hurdle and they got over it! Even though they were struggling they gave it a darn good try, many people wouldn't even do that.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head vintage. It’s the sheer amount of energy they are having to use ( more so because it is cold as well) up to do these things, than a confidence issue.
Thanks cherryfudge good advice. I’ve been back over my application form and there was a couple of things that stood out, which I couldn’t alter. My past expertise and knowledge wasn’t necessarily inline with what they wanted. Although I did talk about transferable skills blah blah blah. Anyway not meant to be.
I did however transfer the saving I made on in-laws present, Vinted sale and converting octopoints into credit(12p🤣) to 🐞PP a grand total of £16.12😝. Not sure I will make the other £2,483.88 before April. But every bit helps.
