Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I think I need to start a private pension. I’ll start that hopefully today. I’m going to challenge my self to save the amount I need each year £2880. Money will be tight come April (although we’ve received no UC for the last 2 months , due to sorting dad’s money out😤 ). I have seen a couple of jobs I might apply for today. Supposed to be going to look round uni today, but the weather is dreadful here. Not encouraging me to go. Plus having second thoughts about studying, the amount of sitting for long periods of time could have a massive impact on my health condition and I really don’t want the pain. Getting there and back is a 3 hour round trip on top of a full day of studying. Plus I’m concerned that I will be in another city and the youngest although has been very supportive , I’m not sure how they will manage if an issue crops up and I'm not available to help. OH works in an area with little to no signal and grandparents wouldn’t be able to sort their chair out due to weight etc. Arrgggghhhh. I feel I’m talking myself out of it, but I need to be practical.Love 🐞

I think a local job would allow you to start a pension (use the employer’s one as the matching contribution is always worth having) but still give you the flex you need to support your family. You may have more time for studying, maybe even remotely, later.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Thanks KK that’s exactly what I was thinking and OH although was totally on board with me applying to uni, he has now confessed he had concerns but didn’t want to stand in my way of going. Love him to bits, he’s my rock.Love 🐞

Did I miss what you wanted to study Ladybird? Perhaps you can get a job and get the employer to pay for some of it, as well as paying you to go to uni part time to get the degree. My friend's son has just got a job (well last year) and he is paid on the day he goes to uni, and they are paying half towards the degree for him. I have just started a new job at the local college and in my induction they spoke about courses we could do that they would pay for. There were lots of different ones, not all necessarily directly linked to the job either. Good luck with whatever you decide to doMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Hi dfw321 I was thinking about studying OT. Unfortunately the youngest had an incident with their chair and I had to drive to the rescue (cue heroic stance with cape fluttering behind me) the other day. It’s not something they would have been able to sort on their own and not something their grandparents could have recified either. The youngest does tend to panic and if things are not nipped in the bud then a full scale panic attack occurs. Most of the time either I or a family member can talk them through things on the phone.I have found a pt job that is in our local town working for the nhs. So I’m going to apply and see what happens.Love 🐞

Good luck with the job application 😊
When you get an interview 😊, for this role or any other you apply for, the M0nster jobs website has a huge list of ‘typical’ interview questions to practice with 😊

Good luck ladybird! 🐞 If you do get an interview....
When I was preparing for my interview I went on a chat ai thing and asked it to prep me. I knew a few things that would be asked anyway by someone already in the job and it prepped me pretty well. It did a mock Interview with me for the role and all the questions it asked were asked in the interview 😊
