Thanks dw321 that’s a good idea. Thanks beanielou. 3 main jobs to do today are take OH car to the fit that is quick as he has a slow puncture, change my B12 appointment as we are away (forgot all about it) and start applying for job. Oh and create a VB (inspired by dfw321. There are other jobs but these are top priority. Right best get the bootie into gear and get started

Hmmm the fit that is quick not so quick. Advised that front tyres be replaced, I said ‘ it's just had its mot 3 weeks ago , not mentioned as an issue’. Said ‘ oh they don’t look that close at the tyres’ raised my eyebrow and replied ‘ are they illegal?’. Bloke’ well no but I’ll show you, they are currently 2mm and 1.6 is limit ’ , ‘ok you’ve shown me, they aren’t illegal are they ? No. ‘Then just do the work I’ve asked you to do’. Arghhhhhhhhh.Love 🐞

That about your tyres just goes to prove what Martin has always said about getting MOTs from a place that just does MOTs. The employees of large garages are dependent on monthly bonuses & guess who funds those. If they have had a good month you may not need new tyres, if they have had a bad one then you do.

I am applying for loads of jobs whilst Studying so I can add extra skills to cv to get my foot on the doorDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Application form almost done, the amount of info they want is phenomenal just for a band 2 post. Couldn’t remember what years I worked different places, or where I worked on a one of them or remember when I did certain exams , brain frazzle meant I didn’t even know where I lived as I put wrong address on😖. Tomorrow I will tackle the personal statement of 1500 words or less. It will be more but will cut it down to fit.Love 🐞

It’s a real pain when you first start this process but it does get slicker as you get used to it and have all the information in a format that you can just copy-paste from. It sounds like the first test / assessment criteria is completing the form! 😉 Well done for persisting. 😊👏Perhaps in the personal statement start with the key bullet points you want to make sure you get in and then lightly expand them?KKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

Worked on personal statement till I lost the will to live, hopefully it should be done by tomorrow. The youngest threw me another curve ball on whether returning to work is a viable option. T/c from college, could I pick them up early as they were exhausted 🥱. 2nd time in less than a week there has been issues😤. Trying not to waive on my plan.I was in the sm when the youngest rang so didn’t manage a full shop, literally grabbed fruit for them and got myself a jumper dress in the 25% of too sale. Our accommodation (yha) for the weekend has been cancelled as they are unable to provide self catering facilities or serve any food. I have managed to rebook at another one but it’s cost us more money. However it’s got a double bed. Also it’s near to a place that serves gluten free bagels for breakfast 😋.Took mum out for lunch and didn’t mind paying the bill as the food was delicious and more importantly gluten free. Other than that not a lot of mse work going on here.

Is it possible the exhaustion is a (conscious or otherwise) attempt to stop you from going out to work, if your youngest doesn't cope well with change? Not that I know your youngest at all, it's just something that I could envisage happening.
Yay to really nice food.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

No I don’t think it’s that cherryfudge, because I only told them I was applying for the job yesterday evening. I think it’s just I’m more conscious of the amount of support I’m giving because it’s become something I do automatically and don’t realise how much I still do. If that makes sense. I’m still applying for it but will monitor how much I’m still doing, the level I do it at and then see what I can put in place if possible. I think the problem is 1) they have really become more independent these last 2 years which has allowed me to take a step back 2) I’ve been supporting them for so long it’s become second nature and I don’t quite realise how much I still do as it’s little things rather than the major things.
Trying to motivate myself to walk miss giddychops in the rain.
