I'm not much of a fan of sci-fi but I love historical fiction. One of my favourites is We Speak No Treason by Rosemary Hawley Jarman about Richard the third. xx1

Actually I remember now she was a prolific writer of historical fiction. Interesting woman if you Goggle her!2

Been a little bit busy of late irl. I’ve come to the decision that I will be telling my half sibling that I need a break from them due to what they told me the day after my dad passed away. I’ve tried to justify their actions in my head but unfortunately I’m devastated by their admission. It has made me see our relationship in a totally different light and the foundation of what it is built on is an outright lie. I need space to get my head round what they’ve admitted and whether I can continue to support them. It’s not been an easy decision but instead of always supporting them with their MH , I now need to put my mental and physical health first. Especially as my in laws health is being to deteriorate, OH is very concerned about one of his parents as they are acting very out of character. Since making the decision to do this I’ve been able to sleep better.
OH has also been told he needs to see HR due to the amount of sick days he’s had off. If it doesn’t rain it pours. I’ll be glad when this year is done.

Always a good idea to practice the "put your own mask on first, then you can help others" It doesn't just work on airplanes but in the rest of life. It is far too easy to forget that.

I remember you telling us how angry Mr Ladybird was when this first happened and how much it upset you.Yes, definitely the right thing to do. You owe to yourself and the rest of your family.

Definitely a time to make sure you are all right. It doesn't have to be permanent but perhaps if you say to her you need time, then stick with that, it will begin to sort out.

Thanks everyone for your supportive messages. Today’s the day. Already feel sick, I don’t like confrontation, I have a tendency to loose my rag and I don’t want to get into a mud slinging match. Think I will go for a walk to the local wood where we scattered the ashes of my very much loved and missed pooch, beforehand. Part of me doesn’t want to do it but I know if I just bury it I will become ill. So time to put my big girl pants on.

Does this have to be done face to face ladybird? I know there are advantages to that, but if you wrote a note you would have control over what's put across.
Hope it goes as well as possible, whatever you decide.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks cherryfudge. Well it’s done. No apology given, nothing. So time for me and mine for now. Looking forward to an holiday without any distractions. Do not disturb put on my phone. We have lots of things planned with the youngest. Ghost walk, swimming, horse riding, taking my mil out for cake and fizz. The last couple of years supporting dad and also supporting my half sibling with their MH (for years and years) on top of bringing up a child with multiple disabilities and behavioural issues I feel has ground me down. Today I feel the best I’ve felt for years. I’m sad that it’s come to this as I love my half sibling to bits but I just can’t continue to support them at the moment .
