  • The sunshine room is slowly progressing KK. We've decided to move in the bookshelves from the dining room and get rid of the TV. The youngest and eldest(will be their room when they are home) will still be able to access the box in their rooms but we're really not that bothered. We'll put In a radio and a CD player but that's it. Still need to declutter the books but that can wait till we come back from holiday. Some are like old friends and I'm not sure I'm ready to part from them. Another wooden storage box for the eldest if they want it. I am running out of available space to store stuff. Might have to take dad up on his offer of storing stuff at his place.
Other than that took miss giddychops out for a couple of walks.

Busy weekend as we moved the eldest out of their student digs. They are currently looking for somewhere to rent but aren't having much luck at the moment. The prices are astronomical, little terraces are well over a grand. Makes my eyes water that's 4x our current mortgage and we are in a detached 4 bedroom house. Anyway moving day was quick and their room is piled high with stuff. They've gone back to uni city (came home to sort out the car they share with grandad as he can't drive at the moment), as they are going away with friends this week. They did take fil back to the hospital on their way home, as he is having his heart op this week.
Yesterday sunrise room almost finished. Net curtain up. Because it's such a big window the wire was sagging in the middle. Used invisible thread to tie it to the curtain rail. Trip to the big blue shop tomorrow as need a couple more book shelves. Sorted through all the draws etc and got rid of junk etc.
Trip to allotment was hot but managed to get in squash, beans and cucumbers. Tied in tomatoes and OH has dug over another area. Agreed to cover an area over that isn't going to get used this year.
OH really struggling with their hay-fever, has agreed to have injection next year to see if it helps. I suspect he might not go into work today as he's exhausted.
Right best get miss giddychops out before it gets too  hot

I think as you are paying for a service you can politely say at the beginning of the massage  'I need to relax and maybe snooze   so would you mind not talking please'  - they might be relieved to know you dont want chat!

Sounds like the declutter and clean up is going great
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Not sure where time has gone. We are currently in the lakes on holiday and enjoying the enforced relaxation (rained☔alot) as the last 6 months has been pretty full on. In laws were unable to join us as planned as fil had his ❤️op and is recuperating. House is lovely except we can't get the youngest into the local town as the paths are too narrow from the cottage, luckily we have a bluebadge and have drove in on dry days. They have loved been able to use the outdoor gym, equipment, local horse🏇 riding and heated (adapted) pool this week and asked us to move here. Did look at house prices but our 4 bed detached house in a really nice area, would only get us a small 2 bed flat here. Need a lottery win. Hey ho. Food budget blown out the water as alot more expensive here. A single magnum £3.40😳(only ice cream youngest will eat) ..Not really eaten anything different to normal. Did have to buy a hot water bottle as OH shoulder is bothering him. I now have 4 hot water bottles. Actually better check the dates on them as some are quite old. Wasn't something I thought to pack and we do have to pack so random stuff.
We move to the east coast next week and looking forward to the beach🏖️ and better weather. Not sure if the youngest will play Frisbee when we get there as OH hit them in the nose with it this week. A combination of poor coordination skills from both parties.
Right  best get up and yoga🧘 and then see what sort of mood the youngest is in 🤞. Really hope they will horseride today so we can face time my in laws since they paid for this holiday.

  • The youngest is very keen to go and use the outdoor gym again before they horseride today. Soooo glad we got timing right as we weren't sure if a 2 day gap would give them enough time to recover. Bit shocked to be honest as normally they won't engage in physical activity as they associate it with physio. However the couple of weeks they have really got into it. Shame we don't have the same resources nearby. We have floated the idea of them joining a gym and it's been thought about. Right I hear movement best get a move on.

Re hot water bottles.  Watch out for little bits coming out when emptying them, once that starts they are on their way out.  I use definitely not recommended boiling water in mine & that is what I look for.  My excuse for buying bright coloured bottles.
  • Thanks for the advice badmemory.
A good day was had by all. We've packed up and are ready for our early morning start. The eldest wants to go and do the local park run. So, we need to out the cottage at 830am. Then it's onto our next destination. Really looking forward to been in God's own country. There's already talk of decent fish and chips, doughnuts and ice cream.
