  • If you agreed to mediation in your DQ, then of course you should expect it.  If you didn't agree to mediation, I can see why it would come as a surprise.  Either way, you're free not to accept the invitation.

Say no to Mediation, as the NEWBIES thread tells you. Cancel it.

Yeah, I said yes to it - obviously missed that bit in the guidance. So I cancel it and keep waiting and seeing? I imagine they're trying to go all the way with this one. But could yet be canned last-minute?

UKPC are highly unlikely to want to attend hearings. It's expensive, impractical and people like you are not the low-hanging fruit they seek.

They are copying the DCB Legal model which sees discontinuance of well-defended claims at WS stage.

    What's WS sorry?
I cancelled the mediation. Not heard anything else yet.

All acronyms are in the NEWBIE sticky but to save you time it is Witness Statement.

Which is your next job before the hearing, which should end up cancelled because a good WS bundle sees off DCB Legal.

So, I've got a court date. So next step is Witness Statement.
Not sure how to play this when my defence didn't mention the original reason I was given a ticket but their defence did. I focused on the template info as well as the fact their actual claim didn't reference why I was being pursued - I feel this may have been a mistake?
Perhaps now is where I go into the details.

Yes it is.  And DCB Legal will discontinue.

See the 5 linked exemplars. Use those

Right - here we go - WS emailed to UKPC and also to ccbc@justice.gov.uk. However, am I supposed to post it to the named court? Tomorrow is actually the last day before I would be in breach of the '14 days prior to hearing' rule as detailed on the Order - should I print it and drive it up there?! There is no direct email address for the court on the Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing).

Edit: that mailbox is now closed! Sent to ClaimResponses.CNBC@justice.gov.uk
