Having thought more about it, i suspect the reason the mistake hasn't affected your award is because your income is lower than the CTC threshold plus there is a disregard for increases income. So the mistake hasn't impacted the final amount you received - but in other cases it would do. So i think probably right to ask for an MR.
Precisely, but I'm not sure there is any point in asking for an MR. Technically, although the calculations used were wrong, the actual "entitlement decision" was correct, so there isn't really anything to revise...

Hello. I have come back from seeing MP who is going to write to head of my region as he can clearly see there is an issue both in payment amount and ignoring my request for MR. He has a paper copy of my entire journal entries etc. (found I could up load to Books on my ipad).

Icequeen1: Child tax credits have always taken into account my CBESA and ill health pension as income and that is why I was worried by the incorrect amount in my Final tax credits decision for 06/04/2023 to 05/09/2023 (and have done a MR to request the correct figures are used rather than the entire year amount). Where I said it has not made a difference to my award is be ASU’s even, as yet, tax credits have not asked for money back, so at present it has not affected my award which was calculated (I think) on previous years income of CBESA and pension.

The Final tax credit decision shows the exact pension amount I received during that period - it is only the CBESA amount they messed up. Hope this helps - I am totally lost DWP left hand, right hand confusion
I'm glad the MP is going to escalate the issue.

Out of interest when you filled in your declaration form declaring your figures after your tax credits stopped - did you put a part year figure for the ESA as well as the pension? It’s worrying that it has shown the wrong figure for ESA if you declared the part year figure.
Hello. Yes I gave them the part year figure over the phone which they agreed as worked out how many days x daily amount of CBESA and this was for them to work out the Final Tax Credits decision. When I got the final tax credit decision I rang them up again to say amount shown was for whole year 2022/2023 (identical amount) and not the actual part year income I had given them and they had agreed. Person I spoke to checked my claim and said that the part year amount showed on my claim - so agreed I had supplied it and it had been entered. She could not do anything and spoke to supervisor who said do MR which I have done.

Effective threshold for your part year is £8,872.

    (18725+2500)/366*153

    Just squeezed in I think using their incorrect, full year figure. £6138.00 + 1370 = £7508. Really should be £2812 + 1370 = £4182. Glad I still did MR.

Hello. Update: received a message on my journal a few minutes ago saying - ‘I am currently looking into the issues you have raised. I sincerely apologise for the lack of response to your journal messages, please be assured you will receive a response from Universal Credit today. Kind regards (her name).’

No idea who they actually are (department) and whether in response to MP contacting DWP head of my region who then set things in motion. It will be interesting to see the response that arrives later today.

I have saved my journal to IPad showing todays entry.

This afternoon update - from Anna Nottingham service centre. She has written out how they used the elements to come to the award - totally ignoring the fact they deduct my income from their preset elements whereas child tax credits add the child tax credit to my income! This is where the difference in amount received by me lies. I am banging my head against a brick wall! I am going to send another message reiterating my request for a mandatory reconsideration and a written reason of why there was no inclusion of a transitional element given my UC is so much lower.

The transitional element isn't fit for purpose.

can you share their explanation (anonymised)? If the legislation has been followed then it shouldn't matter that the way each benefit works is different for the transitional element. I'm not sure what you mean about child tax credit adding the CTC to your income?

It doesn't sound like they have actually given you the calculation of your transitional element
