I have to send the written MR (which I will do) to the office that is causing me all this mess. This will be the same place as I made the face to face request for a MR and was told what I had was right. It is interesting reading the response from technical team the acknowledgement that the fact I am worse off is due to the different way the two benefits do the accounts (UC minus pension/CBESA versus CTC paying on top of pension/CBESA).

I think it is also unlikely DM will contact me - it was more to remind them that actually I am not going away until I get a full explanation of exactly how my migration should be processed according to all legislation passed.

With the written do I put the request is in time (my first one was but due to the delays it now is beyond one month) or do I say it is over one month and give the reason why - the delays. I will send copies of journal entries showing my numerous requests for a MR and my tax credit award and bank statement showing income from pension/CTC/CBESA so it shows my total income each month from these. Do you think I have covered evidence to send or is there anything else?

    Do appreciate all your help

If over one month, then do put reasons for lateness - attempting to resolve through journal, phone calls etc first I'd include dates / times of these contacts. But, emphasis that it's an ongoing issue.

I think I'd include (if you can find it) statements from the DWP / ministers that TP would mean that no one would be worse off. e.g.:
    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/completing-the-move-to-universal-credit/completing-the-move-to-universal-credit--2

"Underpinning managed migration is our commitment to transitional financial protection to ensure that eligible households we move to UC do not have a lower award on UC at the point we move them if their UC entitlement is lower than their entitlement on legacy benefits.

We recognise that claimants’ confidence, experience and trust in the benefit system will vary. That is why the managed migration track will also be underpinned by a customer-focused approach with effective processes and systems to move people across safely."

I'd put in that UC's inability to award TP is causing you sever financial hardship - unable to pay mortgage / reliant on a foodbank to feed yourself and child, etc and that this needs urgent resolution.

I'd add that you have your MP involved due to the urgency and impact of UC's inability to resolve this problem, and will be copying the MR to them along with all other correspondence.

To be fair to UC, I do rather feel that MM and TP was always a potentially complex s***show dumped on them by politicians, who expect the DWP to magically sort the issue despite not having the trained staff, resources, and systems to cope with it.  So, I feel, it's important that MP's are made aware of these issues and the impact on their constituents.

Hello again. Have got a message on my journal - they have calculated my transitional payment! They are going to pay me what is owed BUT they are going to pay me way too much as back payment as this transitional calculation has been done in a rush and they have forgotten to minus my pension/CBESA. I have sent another message to say they are going to pay too much back pay so will see what happens - will keep the over pay ready to return to them.

Was a surprise - will see how December’s payment will be. The payment advice will be interesting to see.
            That's progress at least.

I'd request their detailed calculation of how the TP has been calculated, and, of course screen print it and keep a file copy.

I have and they have responded - there is also an amount for PIP so they did not take that into account. I have a full breakdown of TP given on my journal and is saved to Books (IPad) as part of my entire journal and also printed out. The revised statements for the last 2 months are also printed out and put together with the original statements - I print everything as I get it or save it in several places inc cloud.

It seems that the money is correct including the statement that in my case I am better off on UC.

My brain is all over the place but it is progress :)

That's good news you are getting a payment even if its wrong!  Like you say, keep it back and get a few pennies interest on it until they ask for it back. I do feel for the staff on the receiving end of this as well, clearly there is a lack of understanding/relevant guidance, it might have made some sense to have some specially trained staff to deal with the managed migration cases, i can only imagine what the guidance looks like and how thick it is!

I put in my last message that I respected all the people who had written on my journal and was minded that there was a chain of command in DWP so that I was using the term DWP in my message. Front line staff in any organisation have it tough and respect goes a long way.

Yamor can I private message as dont want the whole world to see bt you, Alice_Holt and Spoonie Turtle (and if I have missed someone who can use the information to advise others and who advised me) I can send for your eyes only. It is also out of respect for the person who got it done too.
