Good afternoon all, I'm back.
Mondays jobs, some got done, not others! I hoovered the LR floor and the kitchen floor. The kitchen has stone tiles, that were fitted by a monkey! All uneven, and with crevices between, it can't be swept effectively. Also hoovered the cobwebs from between the "beams" in the LR. They are actually the joists from the floor above, that the same idiot decided to expose and stain. Just because the house is around 300 years old! While doing all this hoovering i realised the hoover is older than all of my children. We have had it for around 42 years! The wire, which has been shortened when it was damaged, will not wind up properly, it has gone very stiff. The body of it, it's a VAX, is held together with a ratchet strap. the hose won't stay in, it is new and has a slightly different end to the original.
Tuesday, we did the weekly shop, this takes all morning. Alongside the groceries we picked up a new hoover from Lidl. Just under £45. I'll be careful not to wear it out.
Wednesday I made scones, having bought reduced price clotted cream for £1. Also pineapple upside down cake to eat with clotted cream. and some raspberry buns. Any ideas of uses for clotted cream? The pack had a kilo in it!
Today, spent time talking to the tree man. Loaded the DW. And am now trying to sort the car insurance. The renewal was 50% up on last year! Found one for only £1 more than last year. Now on hold on the phone! I can't pay because the credit card needs a 6 digit number sent to my mobile. I no longer have a mobile! Don't need to pay for a phone, when the coverage is terrible. The lady said she would change it to send to my email instead. That didn't work! Now a man is trying to sort it, I'm on hold again. Flying? No time when renewing the insurance takes all afternoon.
@Asparklierblonde, glad your raspberries are doing well. No problem sending some more. How many do you want? Don't forget they will multiply by next year. They seem to breed like rabbits here.

I think I'm going to start taking vodka to work in my water bottle. It might ease me through the day. Not that I've ever drunk vodka - but needs must and all that. Oooo or Diamond White cider - that's more my line.
Another day survived. And no dead bodies to hide. I called at the PO to pay the rent on my way home. And I've brought in the emptied bins, changed into my scruffs, and made a coffee. I filled in the Staff Survey this afternoon. That'll knock down their averages! Would I recommend the place to a friend to work at? I don't know anyone that I dislike enough to wish that on them! On another note they've changed the name of the Pride and Respect training so we all have to do it again. You couldn't make it up!
But I'm home now. Breathe. Breathe. I'll put the towels and tea towels away some time before I go to bed. Flutter. Flap.
Keep posting ladies. You're keeping me sane this week. We'll, sanish. 😉

Pigpen I would help if I was nearer, I would bring vodka too. I know you aren't one for too much soppy stuff but we all think you are amazing and you can have as many spoons and hugs from me as required xx
DS has just rung me, he is upset as they have had a horse die at work today. Not only did he have to watch it suffer while they waited for the vet he had to help move it out of the box so it could be collected after it had died. I was almost in tears myself hearing about it and I want to go over and scoop him up and cuddle him like when he was little. His GF is on her way there.Round you are right about the holidays they need to be inked in the calendar. I didn't properly take time off sick last week. The demands of the job and the expectations of the big bosses seems to be steadily increasing, but I need the money.
Flying? Well I did hoover yesterday and the kitchen is put to bed. That will do. Off to watch an episode of Virgin River on Netflix, I have just recently discovered it.7 -
Evening all
It’s so lovely to log on and see the thread so busy. I’ve had a full day at the paid stuff, followed by collecting DS from footie.
In between I made a batch of broccoli and Stilton soup, did umpteen loads of laundry (final one on now with DS filthy kit in and my outside fleece which is covered in mud), cleaned the DW out and set it on a hot wash, and kept the kitchen fire roaring.I too would be there in a heart beat Piggers. How you do all you do is beyond me. In answer to your question, I had a letter last week saying they had received the application and expected turnaround time is 15 weeks….
@Mumt@mumtoomany I’ll have whatever you can spare lovely, thank you. And thanks for your help with the lamb tags on PM, I really appreciate it. I was surprisingly not emotional when I dropped them off!!
DD is making me a cuppa to take to bed. I have a new book that I want to get into. I wake up one year older tomorrow ☺️☺️☺️.
Take care all xx7 -
YL how sad about the horse!
I have basically had ADHD paralysis all day. Nothing has been done apart from TV watching. Not happy about it 😕Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

YL.. that's really sad.. it is so much harder when they are older isn't it? You can't just hug them and make it all better.
Flamingo.. yes.. the paralysis is SO HARD..
Secondary viewed with Pixie.. I am really looking at her differently.. She is showing so many ASC traits.. she is wonderful and helpful and sensible .. she is in fact very much like I was a child.. only better .. and not abused for being herself. I'm not sure Dot's school is the right place for her, I don't think it will give her the gentle approach and encouragement she hrives on.. I think it is too harsh.. I need to see how she feels but she isn't able to choose and I am too tired to think..
Dinner and pack ups done.. OH sent to Tesc0 for the bits for Squeaks cooking lesson tomorrow.. carrot cake apparently..
I may just go to bed. before midnight!!!

no flying. not even loaded the DW but have been out for brunch with my sister then the the Royal Crown Derby museum…well…what an experience. Visitors have to pre book…there was just the two of us so the tour was us and the curator…you get to handle some items…and then she makes you a cuppa at the end! I felt really privileged. And there isn’t a shop so you aren’t tempted…Really well worth a visit
oh i have fluttered…i put some aired laundryaway

Tomorrow's plan:
- start bedroom blitz
- set up Mr N's computer/drag stuff off his old one
- Pilates
- Drum lesson
- sort out foliage and flowers from garden and plan font arrangement for harvest festival this weekend.
- trying to delete anything confidential off Mr N's old computer has been frustrating to say the least as it crashes every 5mins and re-boots itself (hence needing a new one). I am also ultra cautious because a) I don't want to leave any work stuff on it (in case I left anything on when I donated it to him after getting a new one myself) and b) I don't want to delete anything 'generic' which means I can't then access the uni site stuff on my own computer. In theory it is all in the cloud but I find it all quite scary in case I press the wrong thing. However we are now at the state when there seems to be very little on his old one so we can set up the new one tomorrow.
- went to Pilates.
- went to drumming, dropping off curtains and also our recyclable 'scrunchable' plastic en route.
- picked some autumnal bits from hedges on the way home from drumming, then picked flowers and foliage from the garden, conditioning overnight to arrange tomorrow. Oasis in to soak.
- put on DW, emptied and put away clean. Washed remaining bits by hand.
- Put breadmaker on - haven't made any since lockdown so all the flour was 'use by' 2021 which I ignored; it seems ok.
- made a pizza for dinner.
- deleted a load of ancient emails and read new ones.

Well so much for that early night... hot chocolate in the flask.. I love those fancy ones with the push button dispenser thing.. and kitkats in the fridge.. and chocolate fingers because I like them dipped in the hot chocolate. lol
I'm going now... goh.. so naggy!

@pigpen the schools stuff is so hard isn't it? Junior Flamingo is at a mainstream but that has a special ASC unit, which is like its own little bungalow on the school grounds. There's less than 10 kids, and 5 staff, all trained for specifically working with ASC children. It means he goes to most mainstream classes with support, but also has time in his bungalow to do set work by teachers, do his homework, get a break, socialise with other ND kids or, as he has the last few days, take a nap in the quiet room if needed. They even have a kitchen for making hot drinks and hot food. I think these units should be mandatory for all secondary schools!
After yesterday's paralysis, I've managed most morning jobs as well as spent an hour tackling the washing up left over from weds night! Fri is shopping day here too, so best crack on with meal plan and list. Flying job is supposed to be hallway skirtings and walls, my most hated indoor job!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o.
