@flamingo747 .. Most of the secondaries here have the same, they call them a 'nurture unit/hub' here and are mostly for childen with ASD/ASC but do include some children with anxiety issues, PANDAS etc.. they sometimes take children from other secondaries which don't have a hub which I would think is pretty disruptive for them but most seem to get on ok. Mine are in mainstream with a lot of support. Both have a 1-2-1 for the majority of the day. They both have an 'on-call' member of staff who is pulled in if they glitch and blue screen of death like squeak did on Wednesday.. unfortunately her 2 people we both out of school that morning. I just hate that the secondary Dot is at actively excludes parents from the childs education, they don't even sign emails personally they are from 'The SEND Team' which I absolutely hate. I like a named point of contact and I think that alone is extremely important for all children but particularly SEND children. Squeak spends a lot of him in the LSA and library because they are less peopley, they put her in the y7 social area yesterday where she promptly fell into a pile of chair and the top 3 fell on her head. They are in the process of setting up a sensory room, I have donated a few bits which mine don't use *FLING*... and Dots school has a sensory room where they go to regulate.
Pixie nurse appointment done. She had the nurse who was really thick.. called her by the wrong name (so I snapped at her.. she has a biblical very famous name.. it is not hard to read and very disrespectful to say incorrectly especially when they make such efforts to say Polish and Eastern european and Asian names correctly) Amyway.. I need to dipstick the pee for a couple of days as there are signs of infection.. and she is booked in for the 17th... then we go to 4 weekly until July... unless she has a relapse in which case we are back at a year and weekly checks again.. she just wanted attention lol.
I have a cuppa.. so I shall slurp that and have a whizz through this pit of a room.. I may have to do it in 25 attempts.. and throw pain meds down my neck.. my lower half is so painful today and my breathing is bad .. that in itself is exhausting.. I could do with spare spoons if anyone has any.Bed sheets to changeDWWMSweep kitchenPut away laundry in my room which I can't do until after OH finishes work at 5.. by which time I don't want to! He is training all next week too so 5pm finishes again.Pumpkin is killing the bird toy.. I'd share the video but this room is shamefully messy.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
@pigpen Ours is the only school with it within 60 miles
you're lucky to have more options. I wish he could have had one closer than 10 miles away, but no more options fit for need. Sending spoons
Mopping done, laundry in, meal plan and shop list done, dog brushed, dog poo picked up. My garden is so overgrown, maybe the weird summer weather predicted will get me going with it!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Piggers, I love Pixies real name. How anyone can get it wrong is beyond me. Ignorant people.
I was in the WAC from 3.40 which is not like me but I was fretting over DILs birthday cake. Next job today is trying to improve it.Spend less now, work less later.6 -

Happy birthday ASB! (If it's today, which I think it is but I'm often wrong about stuff.)This has not been as productive a week as I'd hoped but the house looks tidier and is a bit cleaner. I've vacuumed downstairs and the stairs, Belovéd has vacuumed upstairs. The kitchen floor has been washed. The freezer is being defrosted because the noise from the fan on the iceblock in the top of it was driving me mad. Inevitably the sun came out when I put all the freezer contents on the sundeck but I think the stack is well enough protected with a mass of fleeces and a golfing umbrella. I'm hoping I'm on the last kettleful of boiling water. It's been washed out and dried, so that last little bit should mean I can reload it and have done with it.Still working on the thank you cards. I'm drafting them out on the computer because I find ideas dropping out of my fingers if I type and it saves all the crossing out. I need to listen to a CD before I can draft the last one because the flight home was delayed, we were zoomed off to Glasgow and over dinner one of the other three people presented us with a CD of his music. It was a disruptive but hugely fun episode thanks to the people I happened to be 'bumped' with, and lovely hotel staff at a hotel I would never have booked for myself - far too expensive, but gorgeous to be treated to it by Logan Air. Must thank them too ....Better is good enough.6
