Wow didn’t realise it’s been that long since I posted!! Apologies, life has been getting in the way clearly.
June - marking and working mainly. Got my marking done in record time this year which was fabulous. Hoped it would pay more than it did but once tax etc is taken out. Boo.July - Felt like a lot. Kids finishing up school, lots of events and bits for DS2. DS1 was just burnt out and struggling. I felt much the same as DS1 - don’t think the heat helped. Anyway we went on holiday for the last two weeks and generally had a blast.
August - filled with work, life admin and just trying to get on top of chores etc.
I’ve been a bit out of sorts because I found out one of my friends passed away a couple of weeks ago and it really rocked me. She actually passed away a while ago, I just didn’t know. I’m absolutely shaken by it though.
I’m trying to think of ways to make myself feel positive and productive, but I’ve not got very far with it tbh. Think I need a bit of a rocket up my bottom.
Summer is whizzing by and I don’t think we’ve done much the last 2 weeks. I must try harder to get the kids out. That said DS1 was throwing up all day yesterday and I ended up sleeping in the couch (DH was snoring), so that might be part of today’s mood. 🙄

Time to get back on the organisations bandwagon. I feel like we’ve let everything slip lately.
First task is to make a plan. I’ve used AI to help me make 2. One for me and one for DH, that is ADHD friendly.
Fingers crossed it works. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

More life progress made.
- Hoovered whole house.
- DS1 tried on his new PE kit and it fits (school got a new one).
- Took the dog and kids out for a walk at lunch.
I was also working a full day today so I’m calling that a win. Work felt pretty productive too, so I’m claiming that as a win.
I will turn my frown upside down by way of ‘doing’ stuff. What stuff makes you feel better?Oh the other win. The marrow cake I made the other day, DS1 LOVES. I’m really happy with that if I’m honest. 😁 And my pumpkins are doing pretty well if I do say so myself.

Beautiful day playing out with the kids yesterday. Spent £8 on drinks and a boat ride so nice and cheap. Then we went for a walk in the woods, did the exercise trail (badly) and ended on the play park. It was a lovely day.
Today however has been rather spendy. In honour of my new doo (which I LOVE), I’ve bought new straighters. Mine are a billion year old cheap ones that fry and snap my hair. So I’ve finally invested in GHDs. Ordered some actual styling products to go along with it too.
Got the boys new trainers (and rugby boots for DS1) ready to order. So it’s going to be a SPENDY weekend really.
I really want a walking pad for under my desk at work (I work from home). But haven’t been brave enough to bite the bullet yet. Does anyone else have one?Outside of that I’ve done laundry, cleaned the kitchen, food shopping, changed the kids beds and taken out all the stuff that’s too small from DS1s drawers. It’s DS2s turn tomorrow.

Also first world problem type question. DS1 is old enough to join the gym. A couple of things to highlight. He gets on better with me than his dad. If he joins:
Gym A- He can go with his dad.
- It’s approx £21.99 pm
Gym B- He can go with dad or me.
It’s approx £38.50 pm. - Dad/I can be doing an activity there with DS2 whilst DS1 in the gym with other parent.
Can’t decide what makes things more flexible and better for us.

I think the way to look at it is take out the price differential for the gym it’s whatever works best for you as a family.

That’s a really sensible way to look at it actually. Thank you @beanielou.
