Yesterday was mostly resting but I did get out to the bins with rubbish and recycling and brought back the two emptied bins. I couldn't sew but did well with my puzzles (brain clear, fine motor control iffy and frequent interruptions to sneeze). Logged into a new free streaming service and binge watched the second series of a crime drama I'd seen the first series of. Lots of things I'd like to watch (resisting the urge to plunge into all the Gerry Anderson stuff) so I'm set for winter hibernation (will try to keep it to one hour per day).
My plans for today are more sleep, lots of water, extra layers and then just 'do stuff'. It's frog Friday but anything that moves things forward will be okay.
Grateful for putting 'like with like' (need to separate out individual projects), food (grapes baby sweetcorn and cheese triangles are next), getting there slowly.8 -
Thank you everyone for your kind words. so sorry to hear about your brother's illness @DawnW. Big Hugs.
Today is a quiet day, finally payday for me, so I am here trying to re-budget for next month, as I have finally started buying some gifts for Xmas, which is rather late for me as I am usually a very early bird and like to be done and dusted by November. This means I had to use the credit cards more than I intended in the past few days, which I think will set me back by a couple of months on my CC repayment plans, so I hope to have some time this afternoon to review and update them.
I am going to spend a quiet night in with a friend, and tomorrow we have planned to go do some pampering to treat ourselves for our birthdays (her birthday is coming up in a few days), so it should be nice, although a bit spendy. however I am pleased I have reached my October NSD already, which for a first time makes me feel very accomplished! I can definitely see the value in it, and will keep up for the foreseeable future!
My plan for today is to work through my lunch break and try and finish the work tasks as quickly as possible so that I can dedicate an hour or so at the end of the day to tidy up, clean the bathroom and dust and hoover before my friend arrives. My Summer clothes washing and storing for the season is nearing completion, have only the dark colours left to wash, however the previous load is taking forever to dry as the heating is not on yet (my flat stays fairly warm so haven't felt the need yet to put the heating on), so I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I might move them closer to the dehumidifier and put the laundry drying function on, hopefully it will do the trick. I as hoping to complete the whole change of season by Sunday, but now I know it is not going to happen.
Today I am grateful for- Quiet night in with friend

Today has been a good day because a thing I’ve been dramatising in my head was nowhere near as dramatic. DS’s baby tooth was doing a very ‘strange thing’ (diagnostic word used by the dentist). Instead of moving down and falling out, the cheeky thing was trying to make its exit out the front of the gum. Dentist was brilliant with DS who ended up getting the tooth extracted. Before the non-dramatic event, I volunteered at DS’s school this morning helping to cut out literacy resources.Afterwards I ticked off a couple of tasks, like returning library books and picking up my prescription.Grateful today for the NHS, for DS’s pesky tooth being out, for our excellent dentist, for being able to help out at the school, and for one less thing to worry about.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11

Today I am grateful for getting a few errands run, for a lovely neighbour mowing the front lawns, for easy food cos I made so much yesterday, for still taking it really easy and needing only a few tissues throughout the day, for time to sit and read.Shall I set up November?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

ThriftyTaylor I do enjoy your posts you always sound so posiitive however tough things are.Your Taggies reminded me o the Twiddle Muffs we were making for patients in local nursing homes at the start of the pandemic. In a town with a lot of retired and elderly folk they proved to be very popular.Polly x
Aw, thanks @pollyanna_26
Sending hugs @laura_lau & @DawnW, & hope you feel better soon @grandmanerd.
Sorry I've not posted for a few days, have been messaging DS1 quite a lot, then lise track of time & fall into bed exhausted! Needless to say, DS1 is now in Sorrento, so not long before he's back home with us. He gets quite low when he moves on to his next place, just while he finds his bearings & a safe spot to sleep. Some wild kittens have made him smile tonight, especially when their mum reappeared & someone came to scatter biscuits for them.
Had more wet & windy weather, but I've kept busy sewing & sorting through things. I've started sewing ricrac braid into the sproutmas shapes & cut out in JANUARY! 🤣 Took me long enough to get round to it!! Just need to sew buttons on to the trees for baubles, then do the gingerbread men & robins.
Went out for tea with 2 of my oldest friends (1 of whom is the one having treatment for breast cancer). The other lady had bought us both a gorgeous bunch of 24 different courses roses 😍
Streamlined some things, either binned or put ready to donate. Just need to put the last few summer clothes out to the shed & sort through the mountain in that corner. Started to make another quilled letter to go in a frame for a birthday present next week
Managed another NSD, think I'm on 11 now.
Grateful for DS1 feeling more positive most of the time, & excited to come home & work through his to do lists, flowers, friends, me & DH both doing bits today to make clearer spaces in the house, DS3 having lots of friends, that I've still got a weekend before heading back to workUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Got a phone call from hospital yesterday. Slight improvement in the blood tests but not much on the infection so it's the dreaded tablets for another month then back to repeat the process of x rays, etc. But on the plus side (and there does always have to be a plus side) it means that I can fairly confidently make some plans for the next four weeks without worrying that they will have to be cancelled/changed at the last minute. I really hate not knowing what I'm doing. So, so far I have a hairdressing appointment, three days in Edinburgh and lunch with the lovely cousin pencilled in. And, if I can get Himself off his bottom we might just go out for lunch next week.
Got a Tesco delivery coming tomorrow and I must make a shopping list for Aldi and plan a few household chores for next week. Actually could be doing with doing a lot of household things but slowly to begin with.
Getting into the Halloween spirit by watching Dracula. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Good afternoon 🌞
Lovely and sunny here today.
Had a busy day yesterday; dropped a food parcel off, had an eye appointment (good news - eyes no worse from last time), picked up a delivery in town for some toiletries I had run out of (and got discounts by ordering online + points), then had a cheeky sunbed! Felt like a productive day. Chucked some spare end of month cash at my credit cards (just over a fiver but every bit counts!). Also booked a few days down south - my first time back there in 6 years since I moved back up North to look after Mum. Looking forward to it - but also dreading the trip. Will stay with friends too.
Today have felt pretty tired (post active day yesterday) and so have just done a few chores. Am on some antibiotics for an infection too so could be why I feel a bit run down. Might try and go for a little walk whilst the sun is still shining.
I am debating on getting a TV licence - I am not quite sure what their logic is in making you pay more in the first 6 months so you are 6 months ahead? £26.50 is a lot every month to find. I could pay quarterly (but they add £5.00 per year) but you PAYG with that. I can't afford to pay it all in one go at the moment. It is literally so I can watch a certain programme coming on next month, so maybe I'll just pay one quarter and cancel after that once the series finishes if I don't think it's good value.
Today/Yesterday I am grateful for:
1) My eye health 👀
2) Friendly people I met yesterday out and about
3) Streaming TV
Yesterday was a spend day
Today = NSD number 11
PS: Thanks for running November Apple 😊
Catch you tomorrow everyone x
