I've just lost a long reply including the day a neighbour found me talking to the bookies men down an entry and informed my mum I'd be found dead. My dad would put a bet on on Grand National day and I'd discovered how to pick the winner. Lester Piiggot as the jockeyalways did well.I don't think my dad was aware I went any further than the pub round the corner someone was already outside during the daytime.Remembering reminded me o when Imoved with son and dd1 to sunny Southport with Son and DD1 ater first husband sufered a life changing attack resulting in a brain injury.Eventually he needed hospice care and I used to take son and dd back to visit their grans aunts uncles and cousins. There was a VW garage round the corner and a new version of the Golf had just been imported in a very snazy light green I ordered one and at weekwnds we'dhead down to my mums all the aunties , uncles cousins and friends.I used to drive down the coast road past the beach.DS wanted us to drive along the beach there were plenty of other cars near the water Suddenly my son said oh look Mum. Mum looked and saw a strng of horses heading straight for us No idea where they'd come from but imanaged tob swerve to the left sothey could pass..The riders colours seemed familiar one pulled over to check if we were ok which we were. Then we discovered they were out training and Red Rum was among them. His j.ockey called to ask if we were ok.I don't know if you and mum visited Wayfarers arcade on Lord Street when you were holidaying in Southport but there is a statue of a very famous racehorse and every tim I look at it I'm reminded of the day history may have changed. One o the fisheremen told me Ginger Mc Cain rummys trainer had his stables just a short distance away in Birkdale.. The beaches stretch for miles but I managed to be on the bit Rummy was .Havr you considered buying a new laptop GMN? One with a decent guarantee and service? I know you treated yourself to some new clothes etc but they were needed..You do rely a lot on your laptop so worth thinking about.A while back you were thinking of coach trips perhaps your relative in Blackpool or friend in the IOM would like to go somewhere too. I was remembering the Owls near Pontefract and dd1 has lots of ideas. No doubt the Falls of Falloch will feature if the weather is good.I do miss the garden Fence thread.Do you remember when Burtha did virtual runs around the UK visiting each of us while running the miles along Hadrians Wall. I was thinking of her the other day when Robin Hoods tree was vandalised.I think those experiencing rodent invasions would be interested in her giving each a name and taking them out for the day in her car.No idea what the weather forecast is but it's pretty chilly here. I've got two jumpers on.mind you it's almost the end of October.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.8 -

Gas check done. A very nice young man and all over in 15 minutes. Plus side. Bathroom cupboard and cupboard under the kitchen sink now looking very, very tidy.
Definitely soup making weather now. Big pot of chicken broth done in the slow cooker. Couldn't face trawling the shops looking for Halloween sweets (most of them are apparently low on stock anyway). I really don't want to be in Aldi when the doctor phones. So I've ordered them to be delivered from Tesco on Sunday. Topped up the order with some special offers which will be needed in December. I really am trying to make things as easy as possible even if it is a little bit more expensive.
Must make an appointment to get my hair done. Might have to be a bit radical as I'm finding it a bit difficult to manage on my own. As I say, I think it's time to make things as easy as possible so long as I can afford it. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

I've been working very hard. Lots of tidying and sorting, bottles and cans and green waste to the bins. Went to the library as I only had half a book left to read.. Came back exhausted , took me ages to persuade myself to climb the stairs. finished clearing the bed, then sprayed and layered it up (left a sheet soaking in the sink whilst I was crawling all over the bed. This morning I washed my mask, hose and the black filter and replaced the white filter.
Mum's lodger phoned to say he's been offered a flat which might be available from the beginning of November although he may need longer to move stuff across. He will get rid of as much of the house contents as he can. I've offered him the packing boxes I bought for those two.
DS1 has invited me for Isaac's birthday. I asked could I go for a few days (like last year) but said it's alright for him to say no. DS2, his girlfriend and the baby have been invited too (he would invite DS3 and Beloved but they've turned down all previous offers).
I finished the bed and promptly collapsed on to it coughing and sneezing (been congested all day, now it's decided to make a dramatic exit. DS3 gazed at my empty bed in wonderment. Will see how I feel in the morning before eciding what to do (more clearing or huddled under the bedclothes) but a lot of the stuff in bags has been sorted as I went along so when I find a space for things they can just be decanted.
Grateful for a clear bed, clean mask, hose and accessories, getting on with things when feeling poorly - I have drinks, books, food and a new toilet roll for my nose - oh I have a towel, a bathmat an a dress hung up drying.7 -

Today I am grateful for time with big sis and niece, for bread and butter pudding, for the fresh air clearing my nose a little, for dc having a burst of art inspiration this evening and getting a painting done.

Don't forget Fishermen's friends are gluten free - for clearing that stuffy head. They come in many flavours now. I am assured they are not all horrid.
