Not much happening in at HoneyBear Hall today due to extreme tiredness. It's a Thursday thing, I always come back from the Foodbank completely exhuasted. The dog's enjoying my company even I'm too tired to do anything but cuddle her.Given that I live in Plymouth and we've had rather a lot of trees felled on a rogue councillor's orders I'm wondering if he's been anywhere near Sycamore Gap recently. Very sad about that tree; my walking companion walked that section and I was looking forward to seeing it when I can get back up there. An iconic 300 year old tree felled by an idiot. I very, very rarely use the word iconic, but that tree was. There were some fabulous photographs taken of it while I was doing that walk due to the extra-ordinary conditions. Very sad.Better is good enough.9

Morning all,
I agree HB it’s awful news 🥺xx
YL - how are you feeling lovely?
I managed a small amount of photo decluttering yesterday which I was pleased with. This morning is the first day in three that I have been able to fling the windows wide open because it’s not windy, hurrah!! Today looks a bit like:
- 8 hours paid stuff
- Strip and wash the bedding
- Put the stew in the SC as it didn’t happen yesterday
- clean both fires out
- polish my bedroom
- chop a bit of kindling wood
- sweep hen shed out
The last two points are optimistic and may have to wait until tomorrow. I also need to collect a blind from FB marketplace if I have time.
Cuppa and shower now, have fab days all xx8 -
Morning all. Yes, awful that some ****** cut down the tree.
I haven't decided what flying I will do today and whether it's inside or out, should be out. First, I'll do the dailies, walk Poppet and go to a coffee morning.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all, paid stuff today. I also want to put the aired laundry away, and that means the maiden can go away too. I have towels to peg out on the line.
Last night i took the birthday gift box out of the little wardrobe, i will use it for DiL’s gifts i think. That’s been in there since my big birthday in 2020 and contained some little glass bottles i had been saving ‘in case’…they’re going in the recycling bin. *fling*. A reuse, a recycle, a bit more space - win win. All her gifts fit in there so i’m pleased about that.
I need to get petrol today and pickup some toilet rolls for work.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear7 -
Relieved to find I'm not the only person who minds about the tree. Someone on Twitter suggested that those of us who feel strongly about it should make a commitment to plant a tree within a year, so I'm now hunting for a suitable spot. We've been cramming fruit trees into our communal garden for 30 years (crabapple, apple, pear, two figs) so I'm not quite sure where it will go, but I think a plum would be suitable. There's a huge sycamore at the west end on public land so it doesn't need to be one of those. As for dentists, my wonderful dentist had to go over to private for adults about 20 years ago because he simply couldn't make the practice pay on NHS rates. He then retired and sold the practice to another wondeful dentist, but during the pandemic he told me he'd been relying on savings to keep the practice going. Both of them treated/treat children on the NHS but just couldn't afford to treat adults. It's not the dentists that are choosing this; both men were appalled by not being able to treat everyone in the way they should on the NHS.Belovéd is handwashing a satin dressing gown he inherited when his cousin died. I'm impressed with him.Today I must:- walk the dog properly;- reconcile my credit card statement which contains all my holibob spending;- deal with the In and Filing tray;- dust a bit.Better is good enough.8

HoneyBear it's not fair that dentists can't treat NHS patients, the funding should be better, as with all NHS services. But I'll stop there before I get on a massive soapbox!
Dailies mostly done though will replace sweeping and mopping downstairs with hoover and mop as hoovering would be good throughout. One load of washing on the line, one already folded and put awU, and a wool wash for the hats, gloves and scarves left after the purge. Want to get the straw hats away and the woolly beanies up next week, October is generally when we start using them.
Didn't wash the sofas yesterday, will do so todayMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

*feeling very smug with her NHS dentist* The dental service is in shambles now.. our rellies who fought for the NHS should be appalled and everyone should be screaming in the streets.. I do think many things which are offered should not be, and many things which are not should be. If the big pharma were forced to reduce their over inflated costs it would make such a huge difference.

I officially need more hours in my day. So far:
- 5 hours done out of 8 of paid stuff
- LR fire cleaned out, re-set and lit
- LR and kitchen hoovered
- Bedding blowing on the line (it is now very windy again). Other bits dried in TD and FUPA
- DDs room hoovered
- Stew in SC
- Small amount of wood chopped (enough for today)
- DD and DS beds made and their rooms tidied
Just having a pot of tea and a sandwich then it’s back to paid stuff. I’ll be shifting the laptop into the LR though so I can be cosy in here whilst working.
