Good morning my lovelies 😘
Thank you YL, but I'll stick to my brew 🫖 . I didn't sleep well either. Took ages to drop off - which is unusual for me- then awake in the night. So I didn't wake up until 10 to 8. And now I'm out of kilter. Maybe another brew will help.
I'm up, made my bed and supped my first brew.
Have a good day.

Hi Round… hope Pops and Babs enjoy their trip to Valliland (almost). it’s nice there… and you used the correct terminology! Actually, i don’t think i’ve ever had one! *gets out to-do list*
Busy day yesterday. birthday cake sourced - DS and I are sharing it. And I have my Kallax unit so i can tidy the stack in the office. Got 4 loads of washing dried. Family coming round for Sunday dinner later, and i have an errand to do.
Tiny Toots list job done - outside bulb replaced. Outgoing bulb shattered in my hand but I only had a very tiny cut.

Morning all.
pigpen, you are making progress
asb, your pigs make me laugh with their antics!
We had a very pleasant day yesterday:
- DH did our normal cereal and fruit, then I cooked bacon and egg to make it an XL breakfast
- we drove to Millennium City with DH, avoiding the horse piddle (he is feeling better - long may it last!), and dropped him off at the bus garage for an open day, literally in the open air so less chance of him catching anything nasty. Lots of bus numbers to note down, lots of bus crew and nerdy bus enthusiasts to chat with, even a chance of a ride through the bus wash
- meanwhile I drove a bit further, again avoiding the horse piddle, and went to visit my two youngest godchildren, who I haven't seen for several months. It was great to see them, but exhausting. Last time I saw them I broached my concerns about the 4yo girl, which their mum (a trainee nurse) poo-pooed, but yesterday father told me that the girl is having speech therapy and has been referred for an autism assessment. I'm very pleased that someone has actually done something, but it's going to be a long road for them all
- went back to the bus garage (again avoiding the horse piddle) to collect DH, who'd had a great time - he hadn't gone through the wash because those buses were so crowded - that's a first!
- stopped on the way home at a local GC to visit the owner's gorgeous private garden, which is open every Saturday for charity - this year they're raising funds for Action Heart. He's planted up a whole area of mixed woodland since our last visit. Amazing displays, too, of Michaelmas daisies, nerines, autumn crocus and cyclamen. Not having had any lunch, we decided it was only polite to stop for coffee and a (shared) slice of cake in the café, where we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine
- back home, I took Rosie for a walk, still in glorious sunshine; she was a bit disappointed not to see any squirrels in the wood, so to compensate for that she demolished 1½ bowls of food and still wanted to play all evening
- risotto for tea [nom-nom]
- watched Strictly - such high scores in Week 1!
Today is going to be a fairly normal Sunday
- church
- deliver DGD1's birthday card and gift
- make various phonecalls
- send cards for 5 birthdays in the next 2 weeks
- some decisions to be taken about the shady border in the garden which is a jumbled mess
- Rosie's walk
- sort out a few more ancestors
Proper flying will recommence on Monday.
Hope everyone has a good day with some sunshine xxx8 -
Morning all,Apologies for the lack of presence for the last two weeks. No real reason for it other than tired and zero motivation. I hope you are all doing ok.
Mum is still in hospital and sepsis is all but resolved and they were getting her ready for discharge when she took a downturn and has a chest infection possible pneumonia. I had a long chat with a doctor on Monday who has agreed that she should possibly go into a nursing home given her care needs although both her and dad need to be on board. I think Dad doesn't want to make the decision himself but will go along with a recommendation. Luckily mum was having a good day when the care coordinator and I were talking at her bedside as she said I know there is no way I can go home now as it is too much for dad. They are now looking for an interim place for when she is well enough for discharge. The battle then starts with the assessment for funding, something we were told was being sorted while on the ward but apparently are not allowed to do! It is mentally exhausting following up on everything, sharing info with dad, brothers, aunty and anyone else, checking in on dad every day, going to see mum and working full time. I don't know how some of you keep on top of everything.
I Have to get back to flying as a priority, my delightful doogie caught a baby mouse in the house yesterday, DH has caught 5 in the last couple of weeks and we have traps under the sofas in the middle roomI obviously haven't hoovered under them in a while!
Plan for today is cuppa 2 and food, then get meat out of freezer for dinner and a different type of plan for flying for today and tomorrow.
Cobweb all rooms
Wipe windows and sills all rooms
Wipe skirting boards all rooms
Wipe doors all rooms
Dust all surfaces all rooms

Happy Birthday Valli for whenever it is / was. I seem to think that I'm three weeks older than you so that's around this weekend sometime. And you said that you're sharing a cake with DS which prompted my memory muscles. 🎂 💐 Sorry if I'm late xx
I've supped my second brew, eaten breakfast, got dressed, and arranged my Monday.
To Do Today List
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling
WUDUPA
I missed the first two dances on Strictly last night as I was out for tea with DS and DF. But I enjoyed the rest of the show. That's my Saturday evenings sorted til Christmas. And Bake Off starts on Tuesday. Must remember that.
Love to all

Dailies except putting out recycling done. I've walked Poppet, hoovered through, ironed three items, got admin up to date and prepped some craft materials for a class later in the week that I'm not even going to!Spend less now, work less later.6

Ooh Round I forgot about Strictly, will watch it later. And ASB I have been sorting DSs room too, off to do a bit more in a minute. DS lives in at work but stays here occasionally and we have kept it as his room until he gets a permanent place. He brought some clothes and odds and ends back a few weeks ago and dumped them so I am moving them into cupboards and will then do a proper clean.
Been to the supermarket, put the washing away, done a few bits of ironing. I could lose my motivation so I need to move!7
