Slinky said:I'm celebrating too this weekend.Looking forward to getting the bowel cancer screening test! OH had a full scan at 55 when we lived in a different area, I chased up last year why I hadn't even received a kit and apparently they start doing them at 60 here. I will be chasing if I don't get something soon. Postcode lottery.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4

Monday is a bank holiday, I am off all next week anyway as I work at a school
.I have just started reading
The Resistance Girl by Jina Bacarr
I don't follow any particular author. I use my mse ways and only pay 50p a book from the charity shop.
The sun has disappeared today. Replaced with heavy rain.
Have a good day everyone x

I'm on a countdown too, next Thursday is my last working day before starting my (slightly) early retirement. I never imagined giving up work (I have had a job in some capacity or other since I was 12 - even working part time all through Uni, and running my own business so I could work from home when my babies were small), but I am so ready for this now. The calculations have been done, the spreadsheets endlessly refined, the budgets set, so it's all systems go! Thank you very much to those on here who suggested applying for Attendance Allowance for my poorly husband - I posted the forms and supporting documentation from the hospital off today, so fingers crossed!10

Another thing I am doing is trying to lose weight. My inactive months while I was recovering from my hip operation, have stayed on me . I was up by a stone.
I joined Weight watchers online. Pleased to say I have lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks.
With the online membership you also have access to workshops and gym sessions.

Lovely Sunny day here. Done a load of washing. Will hang out on the line.
Got to collect cake and decorations to the hotel where my birthday meal is at tomorrow.
