C_J - I filled in the form for Mr F and he signed it - no visit or Dr's letter.
We didn't hear anything then he got money paid into his account - letter arrived some time later.
Mr F was awarded the higher rate attendance allowance so over £400 per 4 weeks..

@C_J I've had a good success rate of filling them in for my inlaws and for others too. And I sat with a Citizen's Advice person on Wednesday who was gathering the info to fill out one for someone we're working with. I'd be happy to help if I can in some way. The big thing is to not underplay what's wrong but be completely honest about the impact it's having. @C_J - When DH was diagnosed, the lung cancer nurse at the hospital contacted a Macmillan social worker who filled in the forms on DH's behalf as a third party advocate (he didn't have to sign anything) on the fast track scheme. There probably was a doctor's report that went with the application (but no visit or interview) and he started being paid within just a few days. Would someone at Mr C_J's hospital be able to act on his behalf?Be kind to others and to yourself too.8

Thank you everyone - he has more chemo next week so I will ask then if his Consultant can supply the SR1 form (I think that’s the correct fast track form). I’m really grateful for everyone’s advice and experiences, I would never have thought of applying. You’re aces.8

Obviously May 1964 was a good vintage
The post last week brought my senior railcard (I was impressed on how quick that was turned around) my bowel testing kit and some self threading needles (my eyes aren't what they use to be!) and a email re my DB pension with a 5% payrise since the original letter last December.

I'm celebrating too this weekend.Looking forward to getting the bowel cancer screening test! OH had a full scan at 55 when we lived in a different area, I chased up last year why I hadn't even received a kit and apparently they start doing them at 60 here. I will be chasing if I don't get something soon. Postcode lottery.Make £2025 in 2025
