Greenqueen_2 said:Well it was predictably boring- just like any other day really.
I am a carer for my husband who is partially sighted and has mobility issues, as well as my 34 yr old son with Autism, so going out anywhere is a challenge. Neither of them acknowledged that it was my birthday, regardless of it being a “biggie”, despite my wearing a big pink badge with 60 emblazoned on it!On the plus side I will not now have to pay for any future prescriptions!
If it makes you feel any better for my 60th my OH decided that we should go away to a posh hotel for a long weekend. And take his mom along with us so she could have a treat and I would have someone to talk to when he was in the sauna. (though I'm sure that wasn't actually his intention....he meant well)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thanks folks.
I was a little upset when going to bed thinking that despite having 6 siblings, a parent and a daughter, I did not get a single card, phone call, text or email.11 -
I think there's a bit of a blind spot around birthdays this time of year due to Christmas and the first couple of months of the year being a bit bleak.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. I think you should start putting yourself first occasionally. Yes you have responsibilities, but that doesn't mean you can't be cherished. Start at 60!

Reminds me of a lady my wife knew who always sent cheques to grandchildren for birthdays and christmas. Despite doing this they never said thank you or visited her. So she started sending the cheques unsigned. They soon turned up to see her. What a surprise.14

I received a surprise cheque this week. I walked into town to bank it today and ended up having a fine time in local chazzers - not at all thrifty! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
